Laura Mercier’s Twilight Collection is $55, and includes several items created especially for this year’s Nordstrom anniversary event (the eyeshadow quad, the eyeliner, and the lipgloss — though the color does exist as a lipstick). The lipgloss has a doe’s foot applicator, though, in my opinion, the winner of the group is the eyeshadow palette.

>I just purchased this collection and LOVE it…how would you apply the shadows though? The colors are beautiful and intense; I am worried that using all at once will be too much. Any tips?
>I think you’re right — it would be hard to make all four of those colors work together. But I could definitely see pairing the red and the highlight, or either of the blues with the highlight — or even both of the blues together with the highlight.
I’m pretty timid when it comes to eyeshadow application, so I might even add another color to the mix (from Laura Mercier or another line) — possibly a matte shade to offset some of the shimmer. And using another color could definitely make the red shadow look more red or more brown, and the blues look either more blue or more grey.
I’m glad you got the set! I’m going to be living vicariously through you.
>This was my favorite purchase from the Nordstroms Anniversary sale this past July. Unfortunately, the brush wasn’t all that I hoped for. I agree that the color palette was the best reason for getting it. The color eye pencil Purple Sapphire is also a color already in her line. Great price for entire package.
