MAC Lustre Twins are double-ended, Pro Longwear Lipcolor + Gloss, and the collection will be available in the U.S. on July 31. The Longwear duo idea is not new: Pro Longwear Lustres are permanent, and Pro Longwear Lipcolors are permanent to the pro line; they’re all $20. What is new is (1) the lipcolors, and (2) the gloss colors come in options beyond “clear” and “clear with sparkle.”
The Lip Color has a doe’s foot applicator; the Gloss has a brush. You can also pop the gloss end off, enabling you to (1) mix-and-match colors and glosses, and (2) replace the gloss end when you run out (because you’ll probably finish the gloss first). These products are limited edition of course, so you can only buy replacements of “Clear” and “Mirror” glosses.
MAC isn’t kidding when it says “longwear” — I had extreme difficulty cleaning the lip colors off my arm. However, these colors were a bit drying, so you probably won’t want to wear them alone (they’d settle into the cracks on your lips).
Finally, in case you can’t quite make it out from the picture, Pink Virtue is ballerina pink with sparkle; Soft & Lush is peach-pink with gold sparkle; Shimmer It is yellow sheer with sparkle; and White Top is clear with red/pink sparkle.
