We're halfway through MAC Week, taking a look at the Satin eyeshadows. Many Satins have a kind of sheen to them — though it can be easy to confuse some of them for other finishes. I believe Satin and Matte were MAC's original eyeshadow finishes (by contrast, Veluxe Pearl and Matte² are quite new).

I never knew very much about these pressed powders, but it seems they are a family of blushes, highlighters, and bronzers, containing varying amounts of shimmer. Solid colors (Soft Lights) are $28, and the multicolored pots of various patterns (Fusion Soft Lights)

Estee Lauder is not usually a brand that people get excited about, but in the annals of great, nonsticky glosses, High Gloss ($16) deserves a place.

High Gloss has a slanted tip applicator, and though some shades are pigmented, the color is buildable and can be applied sheerly.
