I mentioned previously that several brands had chosen “pink” for spring; Laura Mercier and Clinique came to the party wearing the same thing (how embarrassing!) — both brands named their spring collections “First Blush.”
Laura’s First Blush collection includes two nail polishes for $15 each (Sheer Peach and Sheer Kiss, a sheer pink), a mini brush set with carrying case for $50, a face palette for $55, and three new lip plumpers, each $30. Click here to shop the collection.
The face palette contains three eyeshadows (in Buff, Tawny Apricot, and Granite), and though I don’t normally wear pink eyeshadow, Laura is wearing down my defenses. I feel that she’s included pink in a lot of her recent palettes, but the texture and color payoff of these shadows are so nice, I’m beginning to believe. The palette also contains two gorgeous blushes, a pale peach and a pale pink. (If only the blushes were sold separately!) They are perhaps a similar idea to the Blonde and Redhead MSFs of MAC’s Blonde Brunette Redhead collection, but maybe a little less frosty/shimmery? There are also three lip glazes: Natural, Naked, and Flushed. As you know, I dislike lip stuff in palettes — I hate having to use a lip brush, and it’s impossible to keep the powder out of the gloss — but the colors are all so pretty. If these are colors you could use, this is a great palette for travel (or staying put). Note that the palette does not come with brushes, though the brush set for sale mysteriously contains a blush brush, eyeshadow brush, and lip brush.
The lip plumpers, Pink Pearl, Rose Flush, and Peach Glow, are all permanent additions to Laura’s line of plumpers. They have doe’s foot wands, and are scented with “coolact,” a non-menthol cooling agent that smells to me like sweet grapefruit candy.

If anyone lives in the Bay Area I will be hosting a make-over event at my counter at Stoneridge Macy’s, located in Pleasanton, CA.
We have appointments available currently for March 13th and 14th, and will have a regional artistry team! Thanks for all the love!
