MAC Kitty Kouture

Can’t get enough of Hello Kitty? Phase 2 of the MAC-Hello Kitty collaboration is here to cure what ails you. If you’re still deciding what to buy from Hello Kitty (phase 1), click here to go back to those swatches.

The Kitty Kouture collection contains three Sheer Mystery Powders, matte finishing powders for a touch of flawless 40s glam. (Mineralized Skinfinish Natural contains light reflectors for more of a satin finish.) The mystery powders cost $90 each, which gets you the heavy, refillable compact and two pans of product (one in the compact, plus a refill). Sheer Mystery Powder is usually sold only during holiday (always in a different compact); if you’d bought one with Monogram, it would have cost you $50, but you’d have sacrificed the Swarovski crystals and the kitty design.

The collection also offers two dazzleglasses, Kitty Kouture and Dazzlepuss ($28 each). The “gloss ornaments” DO come off, if the dangler seems like a purse hazard, or you would rather have it adorn another gloss (or you wanted to wear as a ring, and you have small fingers?). For those of you waiting for the reintroduction of Dazzleglasses generally, the word on the street is that they’re coming in summer, not spring.

    >I got the Mystery Powder in Light Medium, and I’m loving the texture and finish–better than YSL powder!

I also got the Dazzlepuss Dazzleglass, and it’s wonderful.

    Thanks for the swatches!
