Bobbi Brown’s sheer summer Nautical Collection recently hit counters, though I’m not sure what makes sheer “Nautical.” The collection includes four new, limited edition, sheer lipglosses (not yet swatched), and six (permanent) shades of a new stick blush called Sheer Color Cheek Tints.
The cheek tints are primarily cool colors (not that warm girls can’t wear cool blush). Sheer Raspberry is a cool blue-rose; Sheer Lilac (the blush used in the Nautical promotional photo) is cool light pink. Sheer Pink is a cool medium pink. Sheer Mauve is a brown with maybe a hint of purple — this does not match my definition of mauve. Sheer Coral (the only warm pink) is a pink with gold sparkles. Sheer Blackberry is brown.

The Sheer Color Cheek Tints are $22 each, and smaller than I expected them to be (based on my experience with other brands’ stick blushes). I asked a sales associate why Bobbi skipped the numbers 2 – 4 for a new product; she theorized that they might have been numbered to correlate with other blushes from the permanent line. You can also get free shipping at any price on Bobbi’s website today with code skin6.
And is it just me or are Bobbi’s promo photos getting more and more photoshopped looking?

>Hmmm…I might need two of them.
Thanks for the swatches.
>I was talking to ne of the online chat reps 2 wks ago and she recc’ed Sheer Pink adn Raspberry for darker skinned ladies.
I need to see them IRL for myself before I decide if I ‘need’ one.
Thanks for swatching.
>I totally agree about the over-Photoshopping. It’s getting kind of disturbing! ;p
>I totally, totally agree about the over-photoshopping! Smoothing skin is one thing, but when those women look like their bone structure is altered… that’s something altogether different!
>thank you soo much!
I might get sheer raspberry and sheer pink
>Thank you very much! So helpful!
I like Sheer Raspberry, Sheer Mauve and Sheer blackberry. Sheer coral looks nice too!
>i need sheer pink now!!!!!!!
>I’m a huge BB fan (i’d say 90% of the makeup i wear regularly is from her) but i think her last few collections are BS. I haven’t been impressed since the holidays. She seems to be releasing a bunch of blushes (and how many do you need?) whereas I love eyeshadow- she hasn’t released new/original eyeshadows in a while!
Thanks of course for swatching, I just wish there was more to this “nautical” collection (something blue?) than just tiny blushes!
>Bobbi Brown makes excellent makeup products. But her prices are way out there. 22 dollars for a .13 oz blush stick? Not even NARS will do that to you!
For $15 more you get almost 4 times the product size with NARS Multiples Sticks, which have a wider variety of shades.
>I bought the Lilac one and sent it back. It’s greasy and has absolutely no staying power (not to mention the price). Wet ‘n Wild has better blush sticks than these. BTW, if you want this type of product done properly, try 3 Custom Colors’ Watercolors–beautiful shades, beautiful look, very good staying power, and can *really* be used on lips. And they come in that sleek little 3C compact. (I am not affiliated with 3C, I just love this product of theirs.)
>These look very pretty, ty, Karla
