CEW 2009 Award Winners — and a Contest for TNBTTGSY Readers

The CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) just announced its 2009 Insider’s Choice Awards winners — the most innovative products of the past year in hair care, skincare, bath and body, fragrance, suncare, and makeup. (Click here for the full list of winners and contestants.)

Congratulations to my friends Armani, who claimed the prestige face makeup prize for their Face Fabric foundation; Yves Saint Laurent, who won prestige lips category with Rouge Volupte, and Lancome, who won the prestige eyes category with their Oscillation mascara.

Oscillation, as you might expect, is a battery-operated, vibrating mascara — the brush is meant to improve upon the way ladies wiggle their mascara brushes through their lashes. The brush doesn’t actually wiggle as much as this picture — you can’t see it move when you’re holding it (but you will hear the motor, quietly) — but it’s oscillating 7,000 times a second.

Oscillation can be found at all Lancome counters across the country and on lancome-usa.com. To apply, hold the brush to your lashes and press the button on the wand to start oscillating. Oscillation mascara is $34.
