Guerlain is on fire this spring. Last time we talked about them, we were looking at their new Rouge G de Guerlain lipsticks. Along with Rouge G, there was a concurrently released summer collection called —Terracotta — which I finally got a chance to check out this past weekend.
Guerlain has some permanent collection items bearing the Terracotta name — bronzers, lipglosses, and the permanent loose kohl liners. I believe Guerlain puts items into the “terracotta” category when they’re mineral; please note that everything I have to show you today is limited edition.
The Terracotta Collection contains various types of skin tints and mineral bronzers, but got my attention was their trios of color cosmetics.
Gloss Cashmere is a new type of gloss: creamy, opaque, full coverage — a lot like Dior’s Creme de Gloss, actually. Think of these as liquid lipstick. These have doe’s foot wands and are $28 each.
Fard Indien is loose mineral eyeshadow in a tube ($35). When you unscrew the cap, you’ll find a wand with a bullet-shaped sponge applicator. These shadows are fantastically sparkly, which was so captivating I was almost unable to focus on describing the colors. Of the three, Holy Smoke seems to be stealing the limelight: it’s a purpley cool brown (and so magically sparkly!).
The Baume au Coeur is a sheer, potted, moisturizing balm that contains oils and mango butter (swatched here very heavily to show the colors). The cap is mirrored — a cute detail for touching up on the run. I would totally want Rose Venus, were it not for the $30 price tag.
Guerlain Terracotta: Rose Pondichery, Rose Pondicherry, Beige Bengali, Rouge Sultan, Paradise Sand, Holy Smoke, Jungle Dust, Rose Venus, Coeur Caramel, Cocoa Love
