If you were waiting for the high-pigment shades of Dior Addict lipstick, today is your day. Dior Addict lipstick ($26) is Dior’s newest formula: medium coverage, lightweight lipstick with a light rose scent. The formula is said to contain some kind of primer (“Lip Neutralizer Complex”), to keep the color “true” even when applied to pigmented lips.
Both Dior and Lancome put shade names in their lipstick colors (with varying degrees of accuracy). You can more or less trust Dior Addict: the roses are cool, the mauves are purply. Undressed Pink looked a little mauvey; Beige Negligee a little pink; Pink Empress rather warm; Infamous Pink a bit mauvey; and Rose Decollete slightly brown.
Of today’s shades, Gallant Bronze has sparkles; Opulent Mauve, Havana Beige, and Spotlight Violet have very small sparkles. Rose Celebrity looks to be a deeper, fuller version of Rose Starlet. All of today’s shades are too pigmented for fair, color-shy me.
