Dior is pushing the envelope on one of their most beloved products with the release of limited edition “Designer” eyeshadow quints. These quints contain four shadows and a cream liner — intended, I think to be more of an all-in-one eye palette, and allowing you to “become the architect of your own beauty.”
Dior even goes so far as to suggest placement for each of the shades, but what it boils down to is you get three shades of eyeshadow, one glitter shade (top right), and a cream liner (bottom right). I’d like to add that the glitter shade isn’t just loose glitter — it almost feels like the glitter is set in a cream shadow, and has good “sticking” power. Oh, and you get a little angled liner brush on one of your applicators, but I imagine that the applicator is so short as to be a little difficult to use.
Jojoba at My Makeup Reviews recently reviewed, swatched, and did a gorgeous look with these — she also swatched the Asian-only 408 Green Design, so I really recommend taking a look.
Designer quints are $58 ($2 more than the regular quints).
Smoky Design: very soft black/grey, silver sparkle, gunmetal grey, white highlight, black cream liner
Navy Design: blackened navy, lilac sparkle, lilac, pink-iridescent white highlight, navy liner
Nude Pink Design: smoky, slightly purple brown, pink sparkle, shimmery pink, light pink (almost white-pink) highlight, red-brown liner
Amber Design: shimmery medium brown, peach sparkle, golden-orange/cantaloupe, warm, white-gold (oyster), cool dark brown liner

>Wow, those are freaking beautiful!! I could actually see myself using them all. Any comment on the consistency or staying power of the liner? Very curious!! Thanks as usual for your amazing blog and awesome swatches!
>thanks for linking my review to yours! I am so glad you did the smoky and blue design side by side. I had been thinking about buying the blue design as well but now I think the smoky is more me. I will be adding it to my wish list soon.
I adore smoky eye shadows!
hugs.
>I like the Smokey Designs Quint. How does it compare to Chanel's Smokey Eyes Quad?
>The Green Design is available at Izzy's Perfume&Beauty Shoppe.com(no affiliation),but beware it is $70..
>The navy one looks from your swatches like it's a blue that people who don't like blue might be able to wear … do you think that's the case? (or is it more blue than it looks?)
>Proximity — on the Navy quint the center shade is more lilac than blue, but the first shade is definitely navy. Still, navy should be a safer choice for people who aren't gung-ho on blue… but I'd still say try it before you buy (if you can).
