MAC Baby Bloom

MAC, Baby BloomIn addition to Love That Look, MAC released a collection called Baby Bloom last Thursday. Baby Bloom introduces a new foundation formula (Studio Moisture Tint) and a new lip balm in a slant-tipped squeeze tube (Suntints).

Studio Moisture Tint is MAC’s first real tinted moisturizer. It has a cream texture (more liquidy than Studio Sculpt) and dries to a sheer, natural-satin finish (read: slightly dewy.) Studio Moisture Tint supposedly gives your skin 8 hours of moisture, and should improve your overall moisture level with continued use. Despite its newness to market, it already has fans.

Cavewoman says, “I love this formula. It didn’t sink into my pores, and it smoothed out so nicely, just applying with fingertips — no streaking. And it’s kind of glowy! Not dewy-wet, more satiny. It feels very comfy and I didn’t use a moisturizer under it this morning.” Cavewoman has self-diagnosed “very dry skin.”

Studio Moisture Tint is a permanent addition to MAC’s family of moisturizers, and costs $29.50 for a 40 ml (1.3 oz.) tube. As NW20s, both Cavewoman and I would wear Medium.

Lilt of Lily is an almost invisible, slightly milky pink. Pink Tinge is pale pink with a few gold sparkles, kind of like the pale, Suntint version of dazzleglass Local Colour. Full of Grace a creme rose pink. And Moist Plum is lavender (MAC’s favorite color lately).

Suntints are $14.50, contain SPF 20, and are available for a limited time only.

    >Is octinoxate the only sunscreen in the Studio Moisture Tints? If so, they don't offer broad spectrum protection :(

  • KarlaSugar says:

    >I checked into it, Alex, and apparently the sunscreen is actually both Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate and Titanium Dioxide — and according to MAC, it does offer broad spectrum protection. Thank you for asking!
