Bobbi Brown Rich Color Gloss

I don’t know what’s bigger news about Bobbi’s new Rich Color Gloss: the formula or the fact that this is the first doe’s foot applicator I can remember having seen from the line.

Bobbi’s website says they offer “the coverage of a lipstick, the soft shine of a gloss, and the luxurious feel of a balm.” One of the Bobbi sales associates said they’re long-wearing (I took that with a grain of salt) — does anybody own one of these yet and care to chime in?

I had thought that Rich Color Gloss was going to join the canon of liquid lipsticks we’ve talked about recently: Chanel’s Rouge Allure Laque, Laura Mercier’s Lip Velvets. Now I’m getting all philosophical and asking myself “what makes a liquid lipstick?” Does it have to dry down to a matte or semi-matte finish? Because now that I’ve swatched, I would call these full-coverage glosses.

Unlike the Rouge Allure Laques, the lighter colored Rich Color Glosses actually seem more opaque than the darker shades. As you can see, I had a little space left at the end of my arm and I was feeling artistic, so I did single swipes of Tutu, Naked, Ruby Red, and Merlot.

Rich Color Glosses are $20 each, and are a permanent addition to the line.

    >My skintone is pretty similar to yours so I'm wondering what you think of Tutu and Dusty Rose. Would you buy one or both of them?
I see what you're saying about the darker colors being more translucent than the lighter shades. It's just one more example of why you and your site are so important. I would've likely be interested in a deeper shade and wouldn't be a happy camper (with Bobby Brown) when it arrived via UPS. You have no idea how much of a time saver you are! Thanks in advance!

    >Karla! You are so awesome to swatch these – I'm dying to try them but didn't want to order, I was afraid they'd be as sheer as her other l/g. THANK YOU!

These glosses actually are incredibly long wearing. They’re definitely the longest wearing glosses I’ve ever tried, and very moisturizing. I’ve got Pink Buff, Tutu and Dusty Rose. I’ve become absolutely obsessed with these glosses. They are fairly pricey for the size of the tubes, but because they last much longer than typical glosses, I don’t have to touch up nearly as often as I normally do with other glosses. They wear well through drinking, eating etc. If you haven’t tried these, do yourself a favor and grab some.
