Chantecaille’s holiday color collection is surprisingly… well edited this year. It includes just three limited edition rose compacts: a highlighter, translucent finishing powder, and lipgloss. Each one is $36.
The promotional images look like gold compacts, but the three testers that appeared at my counter this past weekend were brown metal. I don’t like or dislike them; they’re just rather different from what I was expecting. [EDIT: it seems the testers are packaged differently from the product for sale.] Lumiere de Rose is a pink highlighter — more subtle than it looks in this swatch. As always, I swatched heavily to convey the color. Voile de Rose is a translucent finishing powder (also swatched here heavily), and I believe it’s the same product as appeared in the Butterfly collection a few years ago (Les Papillons Poudre Delicate in Veil).
I think Reve de Rose is the winner of the trio; it’s a really gorgeous rose lipgloss that will be amazing on the majority of the lipgloss-wearing population. I know, it’s in a pot. But the color might just be worth it. If you like this one, don’t wait to buy it.

>Oooooh. These look pretty, I think you're right though – the gloss is the winner in the collection. Not sure I want to spend $36 on a gloss even if the compact is so gorgeous.
Thanks for posting these!!!
>The gloss does look lovely, but the powders look tooo frosty for me. Thanks Karla!
>Totally fell in love with that gloss but it is on backorder till the 15th! Nooooo!
>I love the compact!! Lolz I'm a sucker for packaging…but I would've loved the gold finish more
>I heard a rumor that the testers may be a different color from the actual product??
>Yup. I got the lipgloss today. The actual product casing is gold, not bronze(ish) like the testers are.
>i love chantecaille lipgloss but they are just a bit expensive, i guess xmas is a special occasion where i can splurge a little LOL
