Given how incredibly boutique Edward Bess’s cosmetics line is, I’ve gotten a surprising number of questions and requests for it. (How did all you people learn about him??)
The only places to buy it are at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC (didn’t I tell you New York gets everything?) and online at EdwardBess.com — needless to say, there’s not much opportunity for swatching, though the product photos look so pretty that I want it all, sight unseen.
I do have some intelligence on his holiday collection, though, so I thought I might as well share those images with you.
Basically, there are three items: an eyeshadow trio, a “pot rouge,” and a lip liner. They’re sold separately, OR you can buy them together (with a makeup bag) and that’s called the Jet Set Collection. The collection is $125; the trio is $60; the compact rouge is $36; and the lipliner is $28. Yes, 60 + 36 + 28 = 124.
The Island Escape Eyeshadow Trio (for those of us who winter in St. John) is a palette of three lovely neutrals. The shades (Skylight, Warm Sand, and Sunset Dune) are not listed individually on EdwardBess.com, so if you love them, this palette is your only option.
The Compact Rouge (a sheer, cream product for cheeks and lips) is called Island Rose. The Defining Lip Liner (his first foray into the category) is an automatic, waterproof pencil in shade “Natural,” which claims to be both creamy and long-lasting.
Do you own any Edward Bess? Is it fabulous? Tell me what I’m missing.

>Karla! Yes, I own a lot of his items! I heard about the line because I received a catalog from Bergdorfs then proceeded to order a ton of things from him.
The line is great for those who like classic/easy to wear natural colors. He has some great nudes. Thanks for the Jet Set photos, I saw some at FabOverForty but it's always great to see more versions!
>Clearly you know my views on Edward =D
>I have an EB shadow and it is the bomb–so elegant, such quality. I've been afraid to buy more sight unseen, but I MUST have this set! I've been waiting for a blush from him forever!
>I stumbled on the reviews at makeupalley. When he first started out, he was only selling the lipsticks as a huge and expensive set, which didn't interest me. But as soon as he started selling things individually, I fell pretty hard. The eyeshadows and lipsticks are gorgeous to wear; the concealer is fantastic; and the highlighter is subtle and works miracles in my opinion. I wish he'd update his website to include new products, though!
>*News flash* I contacted the Edward Bess website re: Jet Set. It will be exclusive to Bergdorf's and will arrive on December 1. So no web shopping. Bummer!
>Ugh! Lame! Thanks for the news flash.
