I learned something over at The Non-Blonde the other day. (Though maybe it’s something you geniuses already knew.)
I was reading her post on Dior Silver Purple nailpolish (can’t stop ogling that polish), and she says that for best performance, you have to be diligent about reapplying/refreshing your topcoat — and I thought, wait, you’re supposed to refresh your topcoat?
Then I realized I’ve been sometimes doing this accidentally! Since I’ve been using Zoya’s Anchor/Armor (base coat/top coat) combination, my manicures have been lasting much longer — so it’s actually a risk that I’ll get bored of a color before it chips (3 days). So around about that three day mark, I’ve been spiffyifying my manicure by adding a layer of holographic (OPI Shimmer) or glitter (Nubar Tiara) polish. Thaaaat’s why my manicures have been lasting so long. Good to know!

>i completely agree, but i get lazy heehee *guilty face*
>I have been using Essies Shine-e to refresh my topcoat and I have liked the results so far! Now that I have some time on my hands it is easier for me to change my color when I get board of it or it starts to chip – but when I am busy this is a great way to keep it fresh for a few extra days!
>artofbeauty also carries Qtica Extending Top Coat. The bottle lasts a long time, and works well.
shelllly at mua
>Hmm. I ran out of top coat about 6 months ago, and mysteriously have thought that "painting my nails isn't worth the time" for about .. ummm 5 months and 2 weeks?
