Lancome Spring 2010: O My Rose

Lancome, O My Rose, products, spring 2010When I’d heard Pantone picked turquoise as the color of 2010, I scoffed, but teal is turning up in quite a lot of this year’s early collections (I know, teal and turquoise aren’t the same, but they are related).

And even though Lancome’s spring collection is called O My Rose, there’s quite a lot of “teal” in the color story.

The collection starts with two new, limited edition color design eyeshadow quads ($42): Kissed By Copper and Pop’n Green. I’m not sure I would wear the four shades in Pop’n Green together, but they’re very pretty shades — especially that mossy green-silver second shade (yum).

This collection also repromotes Le Crayon Khol Waterproof ($24.50) — which we’ve seen before, but it’s always limited edition. Teal Kiss (which should have been named emerald, in my opinion) is a new shade. These pencils are SO soft and pigmented — I don’t know of another pencil that feels quite like them. Definitely try these out if you get the chance.

The pattern is a stylized Lancome Rose; and the shade variation goes right through the blush (the gold is overspray). The blended effect is a pretty, soft coral, and I think it’s going to apply more lightly with a brush than with the triangle sponge I used.

There’s also a new shade of Lancome’s Ink Artliner (gel eyeliner, $23.50): Teal Delight. I don’t know if it was my swatch technique (disposable lipgloss wand — not the ideal instrument) or what, but this one flaked on me between the swatching and the picture-taking.

I’m kind of excited about Lancome’s illuminating concealer: Flash Retouche Perfecting Brush-on Concealer ($28). They call this a concealer, but it’s very brightening. Unless you’re young and flawless, I’m not sure you’d want to use this as your concealer. But as a highlighter… ooh, possibilities.

There are two Color Fever Glosses ($26) and four La Laque Fever Glosses ($26.50). All are sparkly; Mandarina is my favorite.

    >Ah! I've been waiting so impatiently for someone to swatch, although my order from Lancome.com should be arriving today or tomorrow. I ordered the Pop Green palette and Teal Delight pencil. On the site they show the Flash Retouche used as a highlighter on their makeup charts. Now that I see your swatch of Brun Tease, I may have to get it. The waterproof kohls last forever, from 6am to 9pm. Definitely takes an oily remover to get it all off! Thank you for the swatches!

Also, how about some Cle de Peau eyeshadow palette swatches? I have 3 or 4 of them and love them, also!

You do such a great job, and are such a valuable resource. Thank you for all your work!

    >Yes! I've been waiting for these swatches! I too am super disappointed that the other stuff is Euro exclusive, especially that amazing green polish. Alas. Though I think the Pop n Petrol palette is perhaps the same as Pop n Green one except with different shaped shadows, as the colors look very similar. Anyway, I'm definitely grabbing that palette and either Mandarina gloss or the Teal Kiss kohl. Thanks so much!

    >I am trying to resist buying the blush. But… it looks so perfect for my pale self! I think I need to go visit it at Macy's or something.
