Good morning, readers! Today we begin a project which I am so excited to get off the ground: a systematic swatchanalysis of MAC’s permanent and pro blush shades.
One note, before we begin, about swatching methodology. There are pros and cons to every approach. I use triangle sponges and swatch blushes heavily, (1) because I think that a more… realistic application might not adequately illustrate the differences between similar shades, and (2) because I think it’s valuable to know the intensity each blush is capable of. All of these shades are buildable. I use the swatches to find colors I’ll like, knowing that they will be more natural on my cheeks.
MAC’s potted blushes are $18.50; the pans are $15.50. To buy a pro shade, you can visit a pro store, or call 1-800-387-6707.
Style is a warm (peachy) pink with a soft golden sheen. Peaches is matte peach. Burnt Pepper (a pro shade) is matte desert red. Devil is bright orange-red with tiny silver sparkles.
