NYFW Fall/Winter 2010: Chris Benz & Lancome

Chris Benz, Lancome, NYFW, 2010As you would expect (since Chris Benz collaborated with Lancome to create Chris & Tell lipstick), Lancome did the makeup for Chris’s show in New York last week. Lead makeup artist Daniel Martin (who also worked on Chris & Tell) collaborated with the fashion designer to create a look they called “gothic chic.” The eyes and the lips were given equal attention. The eyes were smoky in gradations of shimmery charcoal and chocolate.

The models wore:

  • Lancome Ombre Magnetique in Black (a cream shadow, NEW for Fall 2010)
  • Lancome Color Design Eye Shadow in Guest List (espresso)
  • Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir
  • Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara in Excessive Black
  • Lancome Le Crayon Poudre brow pencil in Sable (used as lip liner)
  • Lancome Color Design Matte lipstick in Bronze Show (available in mid-March, exclusively at Macy’s)
  • Lancome Juicy Tubes in Hallucination (in the center of the bottom lip)
  • Lancome Photogenic Lumessence foundation (even on their ears)
  • Shu Uemura Sheer loose powder
  • Lancome Blush Subtil in Mauve Coquette
  • Lancome Blush Subtil in Cappuccine (for the contour)
  • Lancome nail polish in Sweet Nude (part of a mini trio, new for fall)

Wow, it’s surprising they could pull off a look with such an emphasis on both lips and eyes (you know, the old adage, just go with one…) I wonder how this would translate into a look for us normal non-model folks; maybe it would work better for night looks? I’d love to see a reader do an interpretation and post their look (I’m not that good at makeup.)
