It’s a “classic” MAC giveaway this week, with two winners. (I have two brand new MAC Volcanic Ash Masks from the Style Black collection to give away; two contestants will each receive one.)
Here’s how it works:
- This giveaway starts today and ends on Sunday, April 4, at midnight.
- You can enter once per day. (If you enter more than once per day, only the first entry will be counted.)
- This giveaway is open to readers anywhere in the world.
- A winner will be selected at random from the valid entries.
- To enter, leave a comment on this post, and tell me: what makeup (or “beauty stuff” — flat iron? Glass nail file?) do you take with you when you travel? I’m actually very curious to know.
Winners will be contacted by email, so please use an email address you check (addresses will be hidden, and will not be used for any purpose other than contacting the winner).
Good luck!

I tend to focus more on the skin care products. Of course i bring my everyday essential makeup items but I am paranoid about leaving any skin care product behind because when traveling, we tend to be tired or what not and I would LOVE not to have break outs during a fab trip =) so i take anything and everything that would keep my skin at its best!
Blot powder & lippy!
I bring my lighted make-up mirror!
Kajal or Eye Pencil and Mascara, the two absolute must-haves.
I bring my everyday skincare products and hair products. i dont straighten my hair everyday so a flat iron is not a must but mascara and eyeliner is
Hmmm I haven’t traveled in a while but I don’t think I really brought anything other than the normal hair stuff and soap.
I take a LUSH soap (tiny piece) with me on vacation, and depending on where I travel, I usually buy my makeup at that place and bring some back instead! :d Although I do bring my own Shiseido lash curler.
my new mac lipstain!!!
I bring a ton of things w/me. My flat iron, several hair products, moisturizer, cleanser, and a medium bag full of makeup. =)
A mirror is a must~
#2 I take my Laniege Cleanser, Egyptian Magic Cream, Moisturizer, Exfoliator, lip balm, hand creme because I can not stand dry hands!, and evian facial spray!
flat iron
I have to take my foundation with me (MAC mineralize skinfinsih natural)
I forgot to mention that the awesome cosmetic pack i bring came from sephora. lipgloss, blush, and eyeshadow for 18…
A flat wide-toothed comb and lip balm are indispensable!
I always bring my shampoo and deep conditioner with me, and lipglass as well as MAC painterly paint pot-doubles as a concealer in a pinch:)
philosophy face wash
I love to pack my stuff to travel! I have a checklist on my computer and that’s super handy!
I always take my skincare stuff with me, in little pots/bottles. I also love to take my full face make-up, but with as little products as I can
I also love me some chapstick and MAC Fix +, especially when it’s hot!
A mini flat-iron is super handy, I love mine!
I have a way cool BAG that has compartments in it by Betsey Johnson that is wicked pretty and allows me to pack almost all my gear! Full size stuff. I also bring with me products that are almost finished so I can just throw them out if need be while I travel and lighten my load for the return home.
Some essential skincare items in sample size like Kiehls!  Tweezers, and favorite makeup!
A Dior palette for the face which consists of face powder, concealer, a highlight colour and a blush.
I always bring my Lanolips balm, mascara and Laura Mercier loose setting powder.
Skincare is hard to make smaller. I try to think about the climate, what my activities will be, and the condition of my skin, and bring as few things as possible. I always travel with my PCA Skincare Blemish Control Bar, and my Z-silc sunscreen.
mascara!
One eyeshadow palette.
I need a lip balm or gloss everywhere I go, so would be brinnging my Natio lip treatment with me when I travel
Basic makeup and skincare minis, something smoothing for hair.
I will carry with me a lip product : lip balm, lip gloss, lipstick…
Flat iron
mascara, lip balm, moisturizer and sunscreen!
Basic makeup and skincare minis, and something for hair.
I tend to have puffy, swollen eyes in the morning, especially when I travel (I guess I don’t sleep as well when I don’t sleep in my own bed), so I take my eye gel mask with me (from The Body Shop). You just put it in the fridge/minibar at night and take it out in the morning ^^
Almost everithing, but I can’t live without foundation!
Well, lots! Always a luminizer, one foundation, 2-3 blush/bronzer, concealer, lip palette, a few glosses….
and a straightener!

(in Canada)
I try to keep it pared down to one large MU bag, with a good mix of neutrals along with bright colors to jazz it up at night!
I try to keep it to a minimum because I’m very weary about airport inspections of carry-ons and of unlocked checked luggage. I try to bring a palette, such as my LM or BB that has interchangable ones that has space for a few eyeshadows/blushes. I don’t like l/s in a palette, so I usually bring way too many l/s + l/g. When traveling I’d always rather have lip balm than lipstick.
It all depends on how long I’ll be away and where I’m going. If it’s just to the country to hang out, I don’t take too many color products. If it’s New York or Europe, I don’t take too much because I know I’ll be buying makeup there.
Now that I have a couple of the Wet ‘n Wild eyeshadow palettes (don’t laugh! they’re really good!) I can have more variety in my eye makeup than I usually do.
Hand Cream, eye drops…and a compact mirror
I always have to bring my T3 blow dryer.. those blow dryers that the hotels sometimes provide is nothing like the T3!
As a contact lens wearer I make sure to always bring a spare pair of lenses on any trip (just in case of tears) as well as a pair of glasses. Along with the requisite cases and solution I make sure to carry a small bottle of rewetting drops on my person, especially if I am on a plane as that recycled air can be especially drying.
Lipstick!
try using wet and cold pieces of cotton on the eyes before starting your makeup ritual. the pores will look better and the black eyes will be less visible!
My sleek palettes because they have the best fallout of my cheap makeup but the best variety of holiday colours! also a tinted mousturiser as I dont wear foundation on holiday but like to add a subtle glow as a highlight. And plenty of vaseline! my lips get really dry when I go somewhere hot and I want them to look good in all my holiday snaps
hairbrush!
An eyelash curler is an ABSOLUTE must! One simple step can make you look more awake and less painful to look at.
Fekkai glossing cream.
Jurlique Rosewater Freshener, Becca Creme Blush and any multi-use palettes.
I take: foundation, blush, highlighter, eyeshadow primer, eyeshadows (usually a few), mascara, eyeliner, eyelash curler, eyebrow pencil and gel, lipsticks (a few), lip glosses (a few), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razor, flat iron, hair dryer, heat protectant spray for hair, hair spray, brushes, combs, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc. pretty much everything! I just leave the rest of my makeup collection at home. I don’t pack light, though
I’m at home for the weekend right now (from school), and I took:
*MLBB lipstick (NARS Outsider–I can’t be without it!)
*concealer
*mascara
*cream eyeliner
*powder
*lots and lots of moisturizer and lip balm!
