Giveaway: Earth Day with Lancome!

Lancome, Juicy Tubes, 100% Natural OriginI’m sure it hasn’t escaped your attention that Earth Day (April 22) is this week. But it is ALSO the 10th anniversary of Juicy Tubes. And Lancome is doing several things to celebrate both.

First of all, they’ve launched (limited edition) Juicy Tubes 100% Natural Origin. The formula includes Hungarian honey, royal jelly extract, beeswax, and shea butter (and annatto and carmine for color). They’re flavored with vanilla, apricot, and raspberry. They’re $18 and come in four shades: Pink Precious, Rose Pretty, Blushing Beauty, and Sheerfully Sweet.

Secondly, Lancome spokesmodel Elettra Wiedemann happens to be associated with a charity called JustOneFrickinDay ( The idea is that you visit the website, calculate what one day’s salary is for you, then donate that amount.  The charity takes on only one or two projects at a time, trying to maximize impact for those operations. Their current project involves working with the Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF), to build the first solar powered hospital in Burundi. Lancome has already made a donation to JustOneFrickinDay.

Third! Lancome persuaded House of Diehl, Rag & Bone, Giambattista Valli, Rogan, Chris Benz, and Phillip Lim to each design a shirt for JustOneFrickinDay. If you’re lucky enough to live in NYC, and you go buy a 100% Natural Origin Juicy Tube at the boutique on the Upper West Side, April 22 – 25, they’ll give you one of these limited edition, 100% organic cotton shirts for free.  (If you order online on those dates, you can still get free shipping and two deluxe samples, but not a shirt.)

Not in NYC? Not to worry. I have THREE Juicy Tubes 100% Natural Origin (in Blushing Beauty, Rose Pretty, and Pink Precious) and TWO of the shirts (Rogan in size medium; Giambattista Valli in size large) to give away.

Want to win? Leave a comment below and tell me a green tip (beauty tip or other).  Three winners will be selected at random; prizes will be assigned at random; one entry per person; contest open to readers anywhere in the world; contest ends this Sunday at midnight.  Two people will win gloss + shirt, the third will win just a gloss (sorry!).  Good luck!

These prizes were provided by Lancome.

  • Petra says:

Hm, I do a lot, but not nearly enough. I try to recycle most stuff (batterie, light bulbs too when possibble),Give away clothes instead of selling or using them as fabric or a a cleaning cloth, deny receiving bags when I don’t find them necessary (I usually carry a spare plastic one in my bag),reuse the bags I do receive, turn off lights and chargers I’m not using, try to walk and/or use public transportation, turn off the tap while washing teeth etc. These are really simple ways, at least for me. :)

  • Petra says:

*I meant instead of throwing away clothes – I either sell them or give them away, when in good condition.

Put a brick or another weighted item in your toilet tank to use less water!
