She taught me to pluck my eyebrows in the direction of growth (after I messed up my right inner eyebrow–it’s still farked 20 years later!!!)
My mom taught me that cheap lipstick is as good as the expensive kind–but I’ve since taught myself that it’s not (necessarily) true!
My mum advised me to cut my eyelashes off, “it might make them grow faster and longer!” Which I obediently followed, two weeks before my prom night! (Thankfully they did grow back at a reasonable speed, though I’m not sure about longer!)
She taught me not to over-pluck my eyebrows as eyebrows that are too thin are not appealing.
She taught me that less is best.

Usually my mother comes to me for all things makeup related, but what I have learnt from her is to only use as much foundation as it takes to make the skin tone even/hide discoloration – less is more. This technique makes you look your best and very natural at any age!
My mom hardly wore any makeup day to day. But, I have such an early memory of her getting ready to go out with my dad on a “date night”, and she always wore lipstick. She taught me that lipstick is all you need to make a look “evening”.

My mom taught me not to pluck my eyebrows to thin, and to always take off my make up before going to bed.

My mom taught me that less is usually more when it comes to makeup.
My mom told me to never use an oil based foundation/concealer or it would cause be to break out. Sound advice!

My my taught me the powder trick to make lipsticks last longer on the lips: after you apply lipstick to your lips, put on some clear face powder (lightly), and then put another layer of the lipstick. Works like magic
My mom taught me that sunscreen is most important and made me slather it on before any makeup.
my mom told me to go to sleep earlier to help my skin out
Less is more.
Always wear sunscreen!
my mom taught me to always wash everything off! if im too lazy/don’t have time to give my oily face a full wash (this is only if i dont have foundation on), i use toner to get rid of oil fast =]
Never leave without sunscreen.
