I firmly believe that more swatches are always a good thing, and so I’m very pleased and proud to present Burberry report #2, from the lovely and gracious T.C. in Bellevue, Washington:
The excitement and anticipation of the Burberry line has been building for quite a while! I recently had the chance to test out some of their products, and overall, I was very impressed with the line. You can see the thought that went into the packaging, products, and display.
All the colors are very basic and classic — true to the Burberry line. The compacts have the famous Burberry plaid, and there’s an imprint of the plaid in their shadows, blushes, and powders. It’s really cute! The powders come with a great little sponge applicator that says “Burberry” on it (I was so smitten that the associate gave me one to keep). I think they could easily sell those sponges.
The pressed powders are amazingly soft and silky when applied. They just feel so light, and don’t look powdery on the face at all. According to my sales associate, the intention was to give an airbrushed look.
The Burberry representative applied a blush to my cheeks. She just swiped the brush once and with just a little dab, she managed to do both cheeks! I couldn’t believe how little she used, but it showed up really well. I could see this blush lasting a long time, so in my mind, it’s well worth the money. They can be applied sheerly, with a soft touch, and then built up to provide more color.
As for the lipsticks and glosses — each gloss was created to color coordinate with a lipstick, but I didn’t have a chance to play with the lipsticks.
The eyeshadows — these were amazing! With just one swipe of my finger I picked up a lot of product. The lighter colors are a bit sheer (not as washed out as they look in the picture), but this makes them great to use as a base (instead of a primer). They are finely milled and very soft to the touch. I also found them to be blendable and highly pigmented. The colors are a bit sparkly, but it’s not too much. It’s subtle and just enough to give a little sparkle to the eyes when applied. These colors really are deeper in person.
Overall, I found everything to be of high quality. Everything is basically color-coordinated, so you can’t go wrong with anything you buy. If you’re looking for a natural and effortless look, this is the one for you!
