There had been some internet rumors of a new product like Rouge Allure Laque, but until now, I hadn’t heard any concrete details.
The new product is Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss, “pure shine, intense color, long-wear lipgloss.” —By comparison, Rouge Allure Laque (swatches here) was a “luminous satin” lip lacquer.
Like the Laque, Extrait de Gloss will be $32. Â The Extrait applicator also looks slightly different — more tapered.
The collection introduces nine shades of the new formula; according to my notes, only Confidence will be limited edition (do we think Extrait de Gloss will replace Rouge Allure Laque??). Â Anyway, the shades:
- Imaginaire (fresh pink)
- Insolence (candy pink)
- Confidence (rose)
- Genie (coral)
- Insouciance (nude)
- Exces (red)
- Emoi (raspberry)
- Fatale (brown red)
- Impertinence (chocolate)
The collection also repromotes three of the Rouge Allure Laques: Ming, Santal, and Dragon (I have to imagine these have been the best-selling).
There are a few new Rouge Allure lipsticks ($30): Confidentielle (rose), Insolente (candy pink), Excessive (red), and Emotive (raspberry) — and Fatale (brown red) is repromoted. These shades may be part of a line expansion; I haven’t heard that they’re limited edition.
There are also a few nail polishes (because lips and nails go hand-in-hand): Rose Insolent (candy pink), Rose Confidentiel (rose), and Rouge Fatal (brown red; the shade used in the Chanel Haute Couture show). Â The polishes are $23.
