Chanel has a new “mini” collection on counters right now. It’s called Inimitable Intense, and it’s Chanel’s way of introducing their new eyeshadow duos, and rolling out Inimitable Intense mascara to all counters (Nordstrom got the early exclusive for their anniversary sale).
Inimitable Intense mascara deploys the same rubber brush as Inimitable, but the formula is said to deliver even more volume, length, curl, and separation. It’s $30, available in four shades: Noir, Brun, Rouge Noir, and Purple.
Regarding the eyeshadows: The old eyeshadow duos (the quilted style) have been discontinued, and Chanel is rolling out a new formula in new packaging. These are $42 each, and look like half-quads. The pans are rounded-square (American style), and very nicely textured: soft, with good pigmentation.
The left half of the duos is always a very muted tone with a satin finish. The right side is a semi-sheer, shimmery shade.
60 Khaki-Clair is a very muted mossy green paired with a shimmery white. 10 Gris-Subtil is a very dark blue-grey with a pale smoke-blue. 50 Berry-Rose is a muted red burgundy and a shimmery pale pink. 20 Taupe-Delicat (my favorite, naturally) is a cool brown paired with a shimmery peach. 40 Misty-Soft is a a muted (almost browned or blackened) purple with a shimmery iced lavender. 30 Bleu-Tendre is a navy blue and a bright Cinderella’s dress ice-blue.
The collection also includes four shades of Stylo Yeux Waterproof: Gris (new), Espresso, Celadon, and Black Shimmer. The eyeliner is $28, but my counter didn’t have testers yet.
