For limited edition products not available in my country, I’ve asked favors from my blogger friends. Sometimes this involves me waking up early to reserve the product so that they could snag it!

  • mkk says:

There was a product I’d like to have in a Spain-shipping web site but that site wouldn’t ship to my country but it ships to EU. I signed up for a forwarding service, shipped the item to UK and then forwarded the package to my country. 3 countries, wow

  • Nicole says:

I’ve asked friends in other countries to purchase MU goodies not available in the UK on more than one occasion!

  • Lina says:

Well I have asked for cp for both stuff in USA and Britian…..

  • Camille says:

Waking up very, very early to be the first at the store…

  • Liz says:

I’ve driven to nearby cities to get beauty products I wanted to check out, though never more than 30 miles or so unless I had another reason to go.

  • onegreatsmile says:

I saved the last remaining bits of a favorite lipstick that had been discontinued for 8 years to try to match it, and my persistence paid off… it was at the time when companies were sprouting up that claimed they could match any color. I tried four times (@ $30 each!!) and never got an exact match but got pretty close. The sad part is, the original lipstick was FREE! And in the 15 years since, no one has duplicated it in a color collection. BUMMER!!

  • Nadine says:

Wandered many, many drugstores across the city in search of Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure nail polish.

  • ter says:

My husband used to travel a lot for work. He went to all 50 states for his job. Whenever I couldn’t find something I had him looking where ever he went! He became quite educated about makeup!

  • Lisa says:

I’m lucky I used to be a flight attendant & have many wonderful friends who hunt down things in different countries for me, especially duty free LE items :D

  • mrowbecca says:

surprisingly, I’ve never done anything terribly extreme! Visited a few stores in an hour radius, but rarely in the same day. If it’s super hard to get, for me, it’s not meant to be mine!

  • Sara says:

I ask to my friend to sent it from another city!

  • aclearcutsign says:

I’ve asked my sister, who was flying to Europe for a vacation, to buy a couple of skincare goodies as souvenirs.

  • CC says:

I have taken to haunting Sephora and obsessively checking sephora.com to see if/when they’ll have UD Naked palettes in stock. I can’t help myself!

  • styleezta says:

I drove 5 hours to an outlet once to get some limited edition e/s from MAC

  • Step says:

I drove a few hours over Memorial Day to get some Hello Kitty mac stuff. Traffic was awful and I felt kinda stupid going to such lengths for kitty makeup, but whateverrr…

  • Kat says:

Probably drive an hour away. I don’t get too crazy!

  • tracey says:

I’ve driven to another country for La Mer loose powder. I’m in Canada and it’s only sold at Holt Renfrew…they sold the one I had on hold so I had to drive 3 hours down to Seattle and then 3 hours back. Good job it’s a big jar…18 months later it’s still going strong

  • Purity says:

I ordered nail polish from an US website, had them shipped to my sister’s friend who live in the US and then had my sister bring them back home to me when she went there to visit!

  • It’s not terribly extreme, but I’ve had several items that are only available in the UK (or are half the cost there!) sent to me by friends. Gotta have my Sleek pout polishes ($4 in UK, $9 on the website to US!)

  • Yuliya says:

checked about 5 stores from a l/e product…oh boy lol

  • Ellen says:

I am an serious internet stalker if I want something. It is like a hunt!

  • Jeanie says:

i scour ebay to get discontinued items!!

  • lia says:

One summer I had all of my friends who were flying internationally for vacations look for MAC’s cool trip palette in the duty free shop at the airport…

  • Shannon says:

I honestly haven’t done too many crazy things. I don’t like the trouble of tracking down things so if I just end up not being able to find it, I just let it go…I’m not the type to pay extra or go out of my way to get something. If nothing else, I consider it “divine intervention” (not that I believe divinity and all that) that it’s just not meant to be, you know? XD

  • Gen says:

Driving through six cities in traffic!

  • tpzhearts says:

I have my family look for a product in their area if I can’t find it here, and sometimes it’s around the world if it’s a country exclusive item!

  • LH says:

Nothing to big because I just started collecting so besides stalking MACs website I went to all the counters in my mall looking for an eyeshadow.

  • Arduinna4 says:

I guess the most extreme i’ve done is paying much above retail for it on ebay. It was when i first got obssesed with MAC and i dont even know if its authentic…rookie’s mistake i know. :D

  • monica says:

  • luv2smilexo says:

I have never really done anything extreme to track down a product. I’m always stalking ebay, but thats about it

  • Kayvid says:

Contacted someone in a european country to order and ship for me…It was worth it…

  • Halifax says:

Running to all locations of a store (that I can get to) trying to find 1 nail polish lol

  • Kacey says:

When I’m set on a product, I’ll usually hunt for it until I find it, hopping from drugstore to drugstore over the course of a few days. Once I had a product available in person in only one location – 600 miles away from me. Good thing that was my hometown (Los Angeles), to which I’d go back that summer! :D

  • Steph says:

Called all the Sephora’s around me. Ended up going to a different COUNTRY to get what I wanted! (Granted, I live 1 1/2 hours away from WA state!)

  • Shannon says:

Mine isn’t that extreme… As a Canadian, there are several sites that ship to USA only. I managed to convince my uncle to let me use his address and have it shipped to there. Next time he’s visiting us, which is in a few days, he will be bringing me my package :) . I just hope he won’t get stopped across the border and see he has a package full of nail polishes. Ha, I wonder what they will think of him.

  • Brooke says:

nothing TOO crazy… I’ve been lucky in that I always call ahead in enough time to get things held

I’m more of an extreme stalker of LE items to find the best deal lol I got my stereo rose for $32 shipped back when people were paying $100+ – theres always someone nice out there that will help!!

  • anneri says:

I’ve done it all – stalking websites at ungodly hours, stalking stores in different cities, and even going to another country…
Reading this, it comes across as quite manic. Um.

  • rosalie williams says:

spending hrs looking foritem on internet

  • Gail says:

Nothing too nuts – just called ahead & had MUA hold some things for me.

  • andrea sasaki says:

Called different department stores to try and find my discontinued foundation.

  • Mary A says:

I guess the most extreme thing I’ve ever done to track done a product would be stalking ebay in order to be the final bidder.

  • Marie says:

The most extreme thing I’ve done was calling the Guerlain store on the Champs Elysées. ^^ I wanted to offer my mother a limited edition lipgloss that she loved and that I couldn’t find anywhere in my area.

  • Daniela says:

I haven’t done many extreme things to track down makeup purchases because most of the stuff I like is readily available in store or online. However, when it comes to perfume, I’ve crossed provincial lines to purchase a specific brand. I have also directly contacted companies to get them to send me samples of perfumes that I heard were good but didn’t have access to.

  • Agnes says:

i’ve asked friends and family from different parts of the world to grab it for me and ship it over! :D

  • priya says:

i couldnt find an item anywhere in USA. it was a lanage product which was available only in Korea and I wouldnt give up. I got hold of somebody from korea through makeupalley, and got my product through her ! i know I went crazy!!! :)

  • Jen says:

There is this amazing chapstick called Labello….i made friends, family, anyone look around for it. When i studied abroad, i checked every country i went to. I finally found it randomly at a grocery store in Paris.
