I had previously Sneak Peeked Armani’s fall collection — now at last I have swatched it in all its glory.
The collection introduces a new, limited edition blush duo ($49). And though I’m pretty sure the shades are only meant to be used together, I swatched the two sides separately, then blended them together. Using triangle sponges, I swatched lightly (perhaps too lightly) — to simulate on-cheek application — then heavily to demonstrate the colors. Ultimately, it’s more pink than the colors I usually go for.
There are also two fall eyeshadow palettes (both $59): a limited edition, unnamed fall Maestro quad and a “bullseye” Eyes to Kill trio.
I really like the incredibly muted, satiny, warm grey first shade in the Maestro quad (and I wonder if I could pair it with another color to make it look more green). The other shades are gently shimmery sapphire, matte cool brown, and shimmery ice blue.
I originally reported that the “Twilight Hues” Eyes to Kill palette would be #10 — I think it’s actually #7. Its colors are lilac satin (and it’s incredibly hard to swatch just the innermost ring with a sponge-tipped applicator), matte black with silver sparkles, and satin grape.
There are also three new-for-fall Rouge d’Armani lipsticks (swatched here with the three summer shades), and a new “slate blue” shade of waterproof Eyes to Kill mascara.
And for those of you who live in or around Dallas, Rhona Samuels will be at the Armani counter in Neiman Marcus Northpark September 17 and 18 (which also happens to be the last weekend of Neiman Marcus’s beauty week!). She’s a total makeup master — I’m definitely planning to stop in and watch her work her magic!
