As a lipstick person, I thought I was entirely content with my Viva Glam Cyndi lipstick (see arm swatches here). And though I really love and admire MAC’s Viva Glam program, I wasn’t expecting to want or need either of the two Viva Glam lipglosses (see arm swatches here).
But this lipgloss is amazing. It’s absolutely gorgeous. On my lips it’s this incredibly juicy, perfect corally red. Not sheer, but just a bit translucent, with this awesome shine that’s not possible from a lipstick. It’s incredible, and I can’t believe it’s just $14.50.
Lipstick people, lipgloss people, come together now. You really need this one.
By the way, I’m not saying I don’t like lipgloss or that I don’t wear it (obviously I’ve given rapturous reviews to YSL’s Golden Gloss and Beaute’s Luminous Volume Glosses). It’s kind of like the dog/cat split: it’s possible to love one without hating the other.
I agree with the Cyndi gloss – - I went to MAC today and the rep had it on over the lipstick. Could not believe how it POPPED! I had previously gotten the lipstick but never used it as I thought it too orange (it looked different in the store). Tomorrow I’m trying it and will probably get the gloss, even though I promised myself I would not get another lip color for the rest of the month!! (I tried that in May, but it didn’t work then, either!) Thanks for the photo! Oh by the way, any tips on keeping it from feathering? I’ve tried ALL KINDS of liners!
