In addition to the eye palettes, MAC is offering two holiday face palettes and two holiday lip palettes. Both face and lip kits have a “pink” option and a “nude/peach” option, so I decided to swatch them by color.
Hark the Heraldry is the pink face kit. The top of the compact opens to reveal Dame and Plum Foolery — both permanent blushes. Â Plum Foolery is a ruddy pink with a golden sheen (it gets plummier the more heavily you apply it). Dame is a medium, warm pink. The compact identifies Plum Foolery as a Sheertone Shimmer (the same finish as the permanent version); Dame is just labeled “powder blush.” Â But given that this Dame has the same tiny blue sparkles as the permanent version, I think it’s reasonable to guess that it’s a Satin. I linked you to MAC blush roundup because those swatches were done more heavily.
The bottom drawer of the face kit slides out to reveal the very sheer Oh So Fair beauty powder. I was surprised to see this repromoted from Venomous Villains. (“Already?”) If you haven’t yet picked this up and you want it, would you like to buy it with two other blushes? The Face Kits are $38 each.

Happily Ever After is the pink Lip Kit ($22.50). It includes Endless Fun, a very sheer baby pink gloss with sparkles, Cheers All Around, a creme candy-pink lipstick (MAC says frost; I say, “huh?”), and To Joy, a frosty medium rose-pink lipstick (also a frost, but that makes more sense).
A Triumphant Blush Face Kit contains Smooth Harmony beauty powder (yellow-peachy-brown), Melba (probably Matte blush; click here for the heavy swatch), and Peachtwist Sheertone Shimmer (click here for the heavy swatch). Melba is peachy pink; Peachtwist is ruddy-brown-peach with sparkles.

A Fabulous Fantasy Lip Kit contains sheer-nude-with-sparkles lipgloss Heroic Tale, Amplified lipstick Imagine This (a warm, almost peachy brown nude), and Lustre lipstick Storybook Ending (shimmery, sparkly, warm, rosy, raisiny brown).

is smooth harmony appropriate for conturing in light / light to medium skin tones?
Wow, these look great. Wonder if smooth harmony would work on my skin tone?
Btw, don’t know if this is the right place to say but I’d love to see swatches of YSL’s new Teint Radiance: Radiance Enhancing foundation. Thinking of ordering online (can’t find this in stores yet) but haven’t seen the shades in person.
Anyway, love your blog as always.
Ooooh! I like this a lot!! Thanks for sharing. ♥

I ♥ your blog!
The swatches for the Hark the Heraldry face kit & Happily Ever After lip kit are gorgeous. Thanks for posting them!
I swear – the MAC Holiday 2010 stuff is going to leave me broke; the more I see of it, the more I want!
I like the pink blush kit. But wonder if it would even show on my tan/dark skin. I’ll try to see them in person if I can. Thanks.
