NARS Vintage Nail Polish

At long last, NARS has opened their vault to re-release several of their most popular nail polishes (for a limited time).

NARS’s most famous polish by far is Zulu, prized for both its color and its semi-sheer/translucent, “jelly” finish. I’m pretty sure folks have been requesting Zulu since its original release in 1996.

Midnight Express is also a jelly finish; a dark blue complement to Zulu’s rainforest green.

King Kong is an orange-brown frost; Mash is an olive frost; Full Metal Jacket is a cool silver frost, which (at least in my tape swatch) seemed to show brush strokes.

All NARS polishes are $16 each.

My local NARS counters are already sold out of these shades, but luckily just restocked. If you see a color you need, I wouldn’t wait too long to pull the trigger.

And if you end up making a purchase of $60 or more at, use the code karlalp to get a free mini lipgloss duo in Sweet Dreams/Dolce Vita.

Ahh, Midnight Express is making it’s way to me now. (Via I’m wondering how it will compare to RBL Dead Calm – thinking/hoping it will be darker navy…
