The end of the year always conjures up visions of holiday galas that I neither host nor attend. But that doesn’t stop me from planning for them. Steel restaurant makes a cocktail they call a cosmo bianco. I believe its components are vodka, white cranberry juice, and fresh lime, and they bring you a clear aperitif in a sugar-rimmed glass with three cranberries floating in it. It looks unbelievably festive.
Anyway, to help you get ready (makeup-wise) for any galas you may need to attend, I’m going to send one lucky winner NARS Melusine eyeshadow duo (swatched here).

lemon tea
Ummmmmm HOT CHOCOLATE!
Hot citrus tea, Korean style, when it’s chilly. It’s called “yool-moo” tea in Korean but I’m not sure what that would translate to in English. At any rate, it’s sweet and sort of honey like, and a great folk remedy for when you have a cold!
Irish coffee
in the cold weather, a big hot cup of tea is still the best. Green tea, as always, is amazing. Plus Honey! Honey goes so well with hot tea imo.
I love making mulled wine on a cold night!
I’m not a big fan of coffee, but I do enjoy a nice cup of Irish coffee with lots of cream.
Bellinis at 10 in the morning… but only on the actual day of the holiday!

Mulled wine on a cold night is delicious
Starbucks’ Peppermint Mochas
Since it’s also cold and flu season, another favorite beverage is ginger tea, which my husband and I like to make at home, it’s really easy. Basically you just have to boil thin slices of ginger in water (you can add other stuff, like a cinnamon stick and lemon juice for example), and then strain it, and we like to sweeten ours with honey, though it’s more healing if you don’t. It genuinely helps you feel better if you’re sick.

I am from Denmark. And the most seasonal drink we have here is Glôgg. It´s hot red wine with almonds and raisins (usually the raisins have soaked in some alcohol over night), the wine is cooked with whole spices (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves). It is so nice and warming
Since I’m German, my favourite is of course Glühwein. It’s a spiced up, warm wine.

I love hot chocolate, but also anything with cinnamon – apple & cinnamon tea for example is perfect for me when it’s cold…
I like a little Baileys after a nice meal.

I love peppermint (or peppermint schnapps) in hot chocolate, or as an alternative, hot chocolate mixed with coffee, or maybe all three together … I also like Baileys at this time of year, it’s also good in hot chocolate or coffee.
