MAC Wonder Woman

MAC, Wonder WomanLike with last year’s Spring Forecast, MAC is doing a BIG spring collection — big in several ways.  Not only are there a lot of pieces, but apparently the makeup itself is oversized. I don’t even know what that means…  how will I use a giant lipstick or eyeliner marker? Okay, those items probably aren’t oversized.

The prices are a little higher in this collection — possibly because the items are oversized, but more likely because MAC has to pay a licensing fee to DC Comics.

The products:

Defiance (Veluxe Pearl) – Iridescent white pink
Paradise Island (Satin) – Soft warm pink
Star Studded (Satin) – Mid-tone violet pink
Real Drama (Satin) – Dark burgundy with pink pearl

Lady Justice (Frost) – Bright silver with white pearl

LIPSTICK $15.50 ($18.50 CDN)

LASHES $14 ($17 CDN)

And then! There are accessories. No tiara, no golden wrist cuffs (slightly disappointed about that, but I guess it’s for the best). Also no invisible plane. But we do have:

  • Wonder Woman, makeup bags, MACWONDER WOMAN RED MAKEUP BAG $30 ($36 CDN)
  • WONDER WOMAN UTILITY BELT + EYE BRUSH SET $49.50 ($59.50 CDN). Okay, it’s a gold fanny pack. But look! A brush set NOT confined to holiday! The brushes are the 194 (concealer brush), 213 (eyeshadow laydown brush), and 224 (blender brush).
  • WONDER WOMAN UTILITY BELT + FACE BRUSH SET $49.50 ($59.50 CDN). The brushes are the 190 (foundation brush), 109 (small dense face brush. You could use it for blush; you can actually also use it for liquid foundation. I’ve always wanted one of these, but haven’t gotten around to purchasing), and the 129 (my favorite blush brush).
  • WONDER WOMAN MIRROR $20 ($24 CDN); comes in a gold pouch
  • WONDER WOMAN T-SHIRT $25 ($30 CDN); small/medium/large

Actually, the Penultimate Eye Liner pen *is* oversized – the tube at least, the felt tip maybe not so much, tho.

  • KarlaSugar says:

Interesting. (Will that make it easier to use, you think?)

  • jenni says:

i was wondering do you know if the brush handles are standard sizes? im not looking for a fanny pack, but im in need of a 224 and am tempted by the handles :)

  • KarlaSugar says:

They look short-handled from the picture.

  • Jean says:

But where is the lightning lasso??

  • Sylvie says:

Jenni, I think you should just purchase a full-size 224 instead of the set. Sets have lousier quality – scratchy bristles, excessive shedding, because they are machine-made, not hand-made like the regular brushes. Since you only want the 224, I think you should just get it instead of paying more for a lousy 224 + other lousy brushes.

Sylvie is so right Jenni. And MAC,here is a message for you-I am fed up with your 200 collections per year!!!

  • Eileen says:

Amen to that, Despoina! I think MAC has become desperate because they now have so much more competition for the youth market than they did in the past. In regards to the Wonder Woman collection, it’s kitschy and will appeal to the kids who like that sort of thing, but it will come and go in the blink of an eye like so many of MAC’s other sub par collections.

i want a lot of pieces blue and red :P
    i love u blog!

  • allison1998 says:

I am not really interested in anything from this collection. I thought that I would be, but now that I see the packaging, I am not. Some of the lippies look nice, but nothing shouts out for me to buy it.

  • Amber says:

I wanted to love everything from this collection but am not…so far. I am still going for a few items (just ordered) and look forward to feeling like a super hero!

  • Anya says:

I think that MAC is awesome, not desperate, and I love that they come out with all of these collections. One who is a true MAC and makeup fan can appreciate all of the collector’s items that they have. The Wonder Woman collection has awesome eyeshadow colors, that have great pigmentation, and can give many different looks!

  • Miss_M says:

I am also a true MAC fan (started buying at 22, I’m now 38), but I also think that MAC releases way to many collections each year, sometimes up to 3 a month. In Europe MAC is twice as expensive and it’s almost impossible to keep up with everything. It’s also extremely expensive and time consuming. I wish they would just release 4 seasonal collections, plus an extra holiday, Icon and Viva Glam collection.
