Two smaller collections released concurrently with Quite Cute: Bronze Everyday and Primed for Perfection.
Bronze Everyday introduces a few new items (and reintroduces a few others), but most interesting: nearly all these products are being permanently added to the line.
To start with, MAC is debuting two Mineralize Skinfinish Natural bronzers ($27): dusty, yellow-peach brown Give Me Sun! and deeper, more orangey Sun Power. Like the other “skintone” Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powders, these bronzers aren’t shimmery or sparkly, but do contain light reflectors for a natural-satin finish.
The collection also repromotes MSFs Soft & Gentle and Gold Deposit ($28). Soft & Gentle is a sparkly, shimmery beige highlight; Gold Deposit is a sparkly, shimmery copper. (My first memory of these powders is from the fall 2008 Mineralize and Sheer Minerals collections.)
Here are the light and heavy swatches:
Though you’ve seen them before, here again are MAC’s powder bronzers ($23). Light swatches:
Refined Golden is the color of sunbaked clay (with gold sparkles); more reddish/orange than the other shades swatched here. It’s a more obvious bronzer, and my SA recommends it for skintones NW30 and deeper. Golden is the lightest, and it has a pink tone. (It also has some gold sparkles.) Bronze is peachy-brown (with a few gold sparkles). Matte Bronze is a matte (obviously) yellow-tan brown.
And finally, Bronze Everyday is bringing back two formerly limited edition products and making them permanent: Skinsheen Leg Spray ($26.50) and Lustre Drops ($19.50).
Skinsheen Leg Spray is a transfer-resistant skin tint (not for use on the face). I hadn’t swatched it with previous collections because I was under the misapprehension that it was a stain or a self-tanner (it’s neither). ”Spray” is also a misnomer. Though the product is packaged in what looks like a spray-paint can, it’s best to dispense it into your hand, then apply to your legs (or arms, or chest).
Shake VIGOROUSLY. The product dispenses as a fast-dissolving mousse (it melts into a liquid as you touch it). It’s also difficult to dispense a small amount.
