Le Metier de Beaute is still a relatively small company. As a result, their artists and employees really get a chance to shape the brand and steer product development. (If a new product doesn’t live up to their expectations, it won’t make it to the counter.) In my experience, that also means that the artists and sales associates are showing you products that they themselves really believe in.
Despite its very French name and luxury price point, LMdB’s national artist Ivan Castro says the brand is “fun, and fashion-forward” — not editorial. Ivan says the company designs products to be usable and accessible, and he wants his clients to go home absolutely confident that they can re-create his work themselves.
Blue Steel is a light (slightly greyed) blue satin. Midnight Sky is a very blackened blue with blue sparkles. Chameleon is awesome. It’s a muted sand-gold (with a breath of olive?) shimmer. Rose Champagne is a pale pink shimmer. Spicy is shimmery bronze. Canvas is manila-folder; pale yellow sand; pale gold-beige satin. Milan is orangey leather tan. Refresh is yellow-white matte. Revive is peach-beige (“flesh”) matte. Lapis is sheeny denim blue.
LMdB shadows are $30 each, except for Refresh and Revive. These two are more than just shadows; they’re “Eye Brightening and Setting Powder.” They’re $36 each, and can be used to set concealer (for undereye brightening), as a powder eyeshadow base, as shadow, or even for contouring.
Of course I like revive and refresh the most haha.

I have some MdB products, like Chameleon, which I’m wearing today. I’m displeased with the brand, however, because it is next to impossible to get here in Europe. They pulled out of UK, and it seems that they are only in Paris now. I hope that’s true, since I will be there in 2 months, and I definitely want to check out MdB again.
