MAC’s Magically Cool Liquid Powder first debuted in the Venomous Villains collection (and most people were reminded of Prescriptives’ Magic Liquid Powder). Now Magically Cool Liquid Powder is back on a permanent basis.
The water-based, cooling loose powder comes in three shades: white/pink highlight Truth and Light (though my photo didn’t capture the pink shine), light pink Honey Rose, and bronze Cajun. Truth & Light and Cajun go on pretty smoothly; I felt that Honey Rose was harder to blend. MAC suggests that MCLP should be used to set foundation; I would think all three shades are too sparkly for that.

Last time I made swatches, I used a triangle sponge. This time I used brushes. MAC suggests a 187 “skunk” brush for application… I guess to pick up less product.
Each .84 oz (24 g), sifter-topped jar is $29.50.

Yeah, these don’t seem to me like they would be great for setting make-up…. I do want to try them though just to see what they feel like.
Doubt I’ll drop $30 on it though.
truth and light can be used to set makeup-it looks best on pale, drier skintypes for that purpose, cajun is a great bronzer and also a blush on deeper skintones, honey rose is a stunning highlighter. i like using laura mercier’s duo fiber fan brush to apply it to the high points on my face. you need a really loose brush to apply it-never buff this product, rather lay it on the skin. honey rose is a toned down soft and gentle, but still quite intense. the watery texture helps it meld into your skin, but the fact that it’s a powder means it stays put all day! i didn’t think i would be into this product, but it’s truly amazing and gorgeous!
I agree with the comment about about not using this to set makeup. Cajun looks like it may be a nice product to bronze with. I do not know if I want to shell out 30.00 for it, but they really are pretty finishes.
These seem so cool but maybe a little gimicky. Really how much is a water based powder going to moisturize your skin? Does splashing water on your face moisturize your skin? hm…
