The eye bags each contain an eyeshadow duo, a Technakohl (mechanical) eyeliner pencil, Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara, and a short handled 275 angled eyeshadow brush (plus a makeup bag). They’re $45 each, and MAC has three color groups to choose from.
The Gold Eye Bag contains eyeshadows in Baby, It’s Cold… (Frost), a sheeny, almost frosty, pale golden champagne, and Woodsmoke (Frost), a really dark, shimmery, blackened blued-green. Woodsmoke has a dark brown, nearly black base (which you can see at an oblique angle), with fir-tree-at-night green shimmer. Brownborder is a permanent Technakohl (previously swatched here). It looks dark and relatively cool in this photo, but is not as dark or as cool as Photogravure.
The Pearl Eye Bag contains eyeshadows in Taupeless (Lustre) and Celestial Black (Velvet). Taupeless was the only shadow that gave me any trouble; as a Lustre, it was more prone to fallout than the other shades. The color also has nothing to do with “taupe;” it’s an almost-chunky shimmery lilac purple-pink with a gold tone. Celestial Black is a reallllly dark purple matte with tiny multicolored silver and purple sparkles. Purple Dash is another permanent Technakohl, a sheeny royal grape red-purple.
The Silver Eye Bag includes eyeshadows in Silverwear (Frost), a sheeny, almost frosty, pale blue-silver which appeared in one of the Tartan Tale eye palettes last year. There’s also Blue Spruce (Velvet), a dark blue-teal matte with dense, tiny gold sparkles. The Technakohl in this group is standard black Graphblack.
I quite like the Gold eyeshadow duo… I just wish I didn’t have to buy the other stuff to get it. I have a feeling that just after Christmas, I’ll be trawling eBay for holiday gift recipients who were willing to break up their sets.
