Nubar just released a collection of eight fall polishes: Polished Chic. I don’t know if every shade says “fall” to me — I don’t even know if I look at these polishes and think “collection” — but somehow these colors feel very on-trend. They’re beautiful. And there’s certainly something to be said for options.
Classic Camel actually doesn’t meet my definition of “classic camel.” It’s a sandy manila beige creme, the color of the nude pumps Kate Middleton and everyone else is wearing right now. Faded Putty is a grey-white (Moby Dick!). Edgy Umber is definitely “fall,” a dark cool brown creme (yum). Beguiling Carmine is a lovely deep blood red — so classic for the season. Vogue Vert is candy pastel spring seafoam green. Mod Aqua is sky blue/robin egg/Tiffany blue. Stylish Peacock is a blue teal.
And then — one of these things is not like the others — there’s Elegant Indigo. Elegant Indigo looks like a blue-purple duochrome in the bottle, but I didn’t really see the color shift in my swatch. It’s a super-dark black or blue-black base with little deep blue shimmers (and a few purple shimmers). I love it and I couldn’t think of another polish quite like it.
Nubar polishes are available on their website. They are $7.49 each, or you can buy the set of eight for $49.95. Their polishes are cruelty-free, vegan, and big-three-free.
These polishes were provided for swatching purposes.
