Sally Hansen Salon Effects Halloween

Sally Hansen, Salon Effects, Ghoulie Girl, ghostsI don’t know if you’ve seen them yet, but I am totally charmed by Sally Hansen’s limited edition Halloween nail stickers. They come in five designs: silver and black spiderwebs, green and black barbed wire, little orange and white ghosts, skull and crossbones on a white background, and pink-and-black fishnet.

I’ve tried these stickers once before, and — using what I learned last time — the experience was SUPER easy. It probably took me 15 minutes to finish both hands. (And then, because they’re dry right away, I went to bed.)

I started by peeling the plastic film off all the stickers (if you forget to do this, the film prevents the sticker from bending enough to properly adhere to your nail, and it is MUCH more difficult to get the film off if you’ve already removed the tab). This time I also had little scissors (instead of big kitchen scissors) for trimming the stickers down to size.

Like last time, I filed the edge using my own glass file, instead of the very rough file included in the box.

The Salon Effects boxes are $9.99 each (unless you catch a sale), and if the pattern doesn’t have a clear up-down orientation, each foil packet is enough for both hands — meaning each box contains two manicures.

When you’re ready to take them off, any nail polish remover will do.

I’m kind of loving my little ghosts.

The official name of this pattern is Ghoulie Girl, and you can find Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects at just about any drugstore: CVS, Walgreens, Ulta, and online.

  • I adore these! I saw the collection in store just the other day & had to hold myself back :)

FYI, I did see that the Salon Effects line is on sale at Walmart for $8.50 this week, though I saw an add not in store, so I don’t know if they have the Halloween ones yet. I need to pick up the spider webs, so a trip may be in order!
