Golden Globes 2012: Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman, Golden Globes, 2012I’m sure many of you watched the Golden Globes last night, and while I don’t have an exhaustive analysis of the makeup of every actress in attendance, I wanted to mention a few.

For me, Nicole Kidman’s Versace dress walked the line of loving it and “um?” On the one hand, she looked gorgeously like an Erte illustration. On the other hand…  those feathers. I think I’m going to give it a thumbs up, overall.  Nicole looked fantastic, and I was grateful to see something I haven’t seen before.

While I wish Nicole had opted for a little more curl in her free-flowing hairstyle, I thought her makeup (by Angela Levin for Chanel) was spot-on.

Angela primed Nicole’s face with Chanel Sublimage Essential Revitalizing Concentrate and Chanel Hydra Beauty Hydration Protection Radiance Serum. She applied a thin layer of Senna Barely Base in Light, and then a layer of Chanel Vitalumiere Moisture-Rich Radiance Fluid Makeup SPF 15 in Ivoire.

Angela used the taupe shade of Chanel’s Lilium quad all over the lids, and used the deep green shade to define the upper lash line. She lined under the lower lash line with Face eyeshadow in Steel, and finished with Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir.

Angela used Chanel In Love Joues Contraste blush, and Laura Mercer Secret Brightening Powder on the cheekbone and browbone. Lastly, she chose Chanel Rouge Coco in Superstition for a neutral lip.

I was very impressed with the dress and she looked amazing in it. Pretty makeup as well.

I agree with you about the hair, but perhaps she didn’t want to add any more texture than what the dress was already showing? She is so beautiful, she could wear a burlap sack and still look good! Love the Chanel on her.
