We absolutely must discuss Keira Knightley’s look at the Los Angeles Film Festival, for two and a half reasons: (1) I. Love. Her. Hair. (2) The look is so classically Chanel — sophisticated, subtle. More about a beautiful girl than her beautiful makeup. (½) She’s wearing “normal” heels! I didn’t think they existed in Hollywood!
Makeup artist Kate Lee was the genius behind Keira’s look.
Kate started with Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum and UV Essentiel SPF 50 (yay for sunscreen!). Skincare acts as a primer; it helps foundation go on more smoothly.
Kate used a tiny amount of the new Vitalumiere Aqua compact (still trying to track down the shade), to even out and perfect Keira’s basically perfect skin. The foundation also lends the skin a slight, even, dewy quality (a subtle glow looks youthful).
Kate applied Make Up For Ever Uplight Illumintor (still trying to track down the shade) on cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, inner corners of the eyes, and the cupid’s bow of the lips.
Kate applied By Terry Rose de Rose liquid blush (shade information to come), with Chanel Tumulte Joues Contraste on the apples of the cheek.
Keira is wearing a peach-pink eyeshadow on the outer third of her lid (below the crease), with peach-pink Illusion d’Ombre in Abstraction (a fall 2012 shade) on the center of the lid. She also has on Chanel Inimitable mascara, plus strip and individual lashes (which just goes to show, for red carpet photography, you have to wear falsies, even to look like you’re not wearing falsies).
Lips are really natural: a mix of Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Liberte and Rouge Coco Baume.
