You really can’t talk about Becca Cosmetics without mentioning one of their most beloved products: Beach Tints. These are creme color in a squeeze tube, intended for lips or cheeks (news to me: I thought they were “just” creme blush).

Becca released a holiday set ($63), including the not-available-individually Apricot. The full range of permanent shades is Strawberry, Peach, Grapefruit, Fig (new!), Watermelon, and Raspberry —Â and these are $25 each. I definitely intend to swatch all the permanent shades as soon as possible.

Here are light/medium swatches of the holiday trio:

Here are heavier swatches:

Watermelon is a raspberry pink. Grapefruit and Apricot are similarly papaya-colored; Grapefruit is slightly more pink and Apricot is slightly more peach.

Beach Tints are lightly (and deliciously) fruit-scented to match their shade name. Becca says they’re waterproof, though I haven’t yet put them to that test. They’re also preservative- and paraben-free.

Becca once made a palette called “Best of Becca,” but I consider Avalon their REAL “best of.” Every shade in Avalon is famous.

The palette includes two powder eyeshadows, demi-mattes Doeskin (a dusty, muted beige pink with a few tiny sparkles) and Tweed (a rosy, warm, very softly shimmery brown). Quartz is a creme eyeshadow, a shimmery peach.

And oh, Turkish Rose. Is that not the perfect rosy-flush blush shade? When I swatched the Fallen Angel palette, I mentioned that I have always been a powder blush kind of girl. Becca has finally won me over with their amazing creme blushes and lip-and-cheek cremes. They are pitch-perfect on shade, and so blendable, with color that is sheer-but-buildable. I have eyes for no other.

Barbarella is a black cake liner (Becca calls it a compact eyeliner). Cake eyeliner can’t be used dry (and I swatched it dry to illustrate that point). To use a cake eyeliner, you need a brush (an angled eyeliner brush or a thin, flat-topped tightlining brush). Dampen the brush, then work it back and forth over a corner of the cake (adding more water to the brush as needed) until you achieve a paste the consistency of shoe polish. When you’re done applying your eyeliner, the cake will quickly dry (and unlike many powder shadows, its texture will be unchanged by this wetting).

All Becca palettes of this 5-pan layout are $65.

The “Best of Becca” palette contained Damask eyeshadow (golden bronze shimmer), Brocade eyeshadow (rich bronze shimmer), Turkish Rose cream blush, Blossom lip & cheek cream (soft caramel nude), and Bird of Paradise gloss (pearlised peachy gold). I wanted to list the shades because that palette was limited edition and is getting harder to find.

Becca is an Australian cosmetics brand, with a reputation for incredibly delicate powders (their Pressed Shimmer Powders and Loose Shimmer Powders are famous) and an outstanding shade range of foundations and concealers (they make 34 shades of concealer). They also have the world’s most beautiful promotional photography — how could you not want to be a Becca girl?

Years ago, Sephora carried Becca, and those who loved the brand made out like bandits when Sephora stopped carrying it, and put all merchandise on 50% clearance.

Since those days, Becca has become more difficult to find. They’re carried by independent boutiques, salons, and spas (click here to see if there’s one near you). Otherwise, you’re limited to etailers like Apothica, Dermstore, and Beautyhabit. Fortunately, Becca created this guide to try to help you choose your foundation shade online, and if you fill out this form (with information like your foundation shade in other brands), a Becca artist will try to match you remotely.

It was inevitable that I was going to fall off the deep end for Becca… it was just a question of when.

Enter the holiday palettes: Enigma and Fallen Angel.

I knew I was going to love grey trio Enigma. Armure (Matte) is a soft, dusty, warm grey… the color of a chinchilla, really. Silesia (Matte) is a very dark warm grey (almost dark brown). Surah (Shimmer) is a dusky, purply brown, like desert dust. For a “shimmer,” the sparkles are extremely tiny and delicate. It’s really more of a satin finish.

Each shade is unique to this palette, and it’s actually unusual to see a “Matte” from Becca. Their usual powder eyeshadow finishes are “Demi-Matte” and “Shimmer.”

Though Enigma is beautiful, the Fallen Angel palette will knock your socks off. Fallen Angel contains Sunrise, a sheer peach lipgloss; Nectar, a peach lip-and-cheek cream; and Narcissus, a shimmery peach highlighter. Again, all three shades are unique to the palette.

I never thought I’d say this, but Becca’s made a cream-blush lover out of me. Nectar makes the prettiest ever peach blush — and it’s so blendable! It’s glorious.

The Enigma quad is $49; the Fallen Angel palette is $45.
