Rock & Republic does turn up on the “sale” sites (like Hautelook) with some frequency, and since it’s an amazing deal on some really excellent products, I wanted to expand on my offering of R&R swatches-so-far.

So I turned to friend and blush connoisseur Gobraves47 — a woman of impeccable taste. I know she’s an R&R blush fan, and she very kindly offered these swatches of her collection:

Seduce is a shimmery, glisteny, sparkly rose-bronze or mauvey-brown with pink sparkles. Call Me is pink-peach with gold sparkles, much like NARS Orgasm. Bedroom is a matte guava pink; All Nighter is a sparkly, nearly fluorescent red-coral (not quite as dark and red as NARS Taos).

R&R blushes remind me most of NARS: they are pigmented and have naughty names. R&R blushes are also huge, weighing in at .32 oz. (twice the size of a NARS blush). Click here to compare with NARS shades.

My favorites from this group are (predictably) Asphalt and Tempting. The sales associate I was talking to said (anecdotally) that her best sellers were Spy, Skintight, Affair, Carat, Lost, Lawsuit, Nailed, and Tempting — I can definitely see why.

• Fade is a very blue grey (medium shimmer)

• Paranoid is a matte fuchsia (like MAC’s Creme de Violet)
• Twisted is a luminous blue-purple that reflects blue (medium shimmer)

• Asphalt is a matte warm (brown) grey, sort of like MAC’s Concrete
• Lawsuit is a totally cool dark brown that reflects green/blue-green; sort of the same idea as MAC Club (medium shimmer)

• Corrosive is a very iridescent grass green or yellow green (high shimmer)
• Jaded is a very iridescent blue-green that makes me think of Monet’s waterlilies (high shimmer)

• Carat is a shimmery oyster-gold, paler — or more white — than Ambition (high shimmer)
• Ambition is a more yellowy oyster-gold (reminded me of Smashbox’s Oyster; high shimmer)

• Scorch is a shimmery fire-orange, or red-orange (medium shimmer)
• Wrath is a very warm, dark red-brown (medium shimmer)
