Today’s post covers the remainder of Trish’s eyeshadows. Click here for her matte shades, here for the other half of her Glaze shades, and here for her “Deluxe” shades (these come in double-size pans).

Trish’s eyeshadows are generally muted colors, subtle in pigment and in level of frostiness. They’re sold as loose pans for $16 each, and Trish sells a variety of compacts so you can create your own custom palette.

Pink Tangerine is a matte/satin brick rose. Heather (actually a “matte” shadow, not a glaze) is a very very soft, rose-grey matte. If dust were pink, this is the color it would be. Rose Quartz is a softly shimmery soft, dusty, tea rose. Topaz is a shimmery warm brown/bronze. Tawny is a soft, warm, dusty brown satin (cooler than Topaz, though it’s still a warm brown). Sable Bronze is a high shimmer rose-bronze. Cafe Latte is a satin warm brown (deeper and warmer than Tawny). Bronze Patina is a golden-brown shimmer. Sugar Plum is a red violet shimmer. Raisin is a blackened violet shimmer. Gilded Taupe is a shimmery cool brown (which I expect you all to love). Gun Metal is a deep, cool, steely blue shimmer.

Yesterday, we took a look at Trish’s matte eyeshadows; now it’s on to the glazes. The Glaze Eyeshadows are… everything that’s not matte.  Trish doesn’t really make frosty eyeshadows, so her Glaze shades generally range from satin-finish to soft shimmer.

I was going to swatch Petal at the end, but I ran out of space at my wrist, so I had to squeeze it in at the elbow. Petal is a lavender satin, brighter, more pigmented, and more pink than “Lilac.”

Cream is a very sheer, shimmery, soft white. Platinum is a sheer, softly shimmery, smoke-blue (so pale it’s almost white). Lilac is a softly shimmery, very sheer lilac. White Peach (aptly named) is a shimmery, very whitened peach. Golden Apricot is a shimmery, warm (peached) blush pink. Natural is a satin apricot — an odd shade to name “Natural.” Glamorous Gold is a delicate golden pinked peach that reflects gold. It’s like a grown-up Melon pigment. Gorgeous Gold (formerly known as 24K) is an almost mustardy yellow gold. Gilded Lily (another oddly named shade) is a shimmery pale ice blue. Kiwi is a softly shimmery apple green. Azure is a shimmery (almost frosty) sky blue that reflects white.

Trish shadows are $16 each, sold as loose pans (which fit into a variety of customizable compacts and planners, sold separately).

Ambling about a recent Saks beauty event, I idly swatched two of Trish McEvoy’s eyeshadows on the back of my hand. (Previously, I’d swatched her Eye Definers and stopped there.) Woah. These are nice. Obviously I had to go back on a sunny weekend and swatch all of them.

Trish eyeshadows fall into three groups: Matte, Glaze (a catchall which describes the non-matte shades), and Deluxe (which actually just means that the pans are twice as large. Click here for swatches of that very small category).

Generally speaking, the colors are soft and muted. Snow is white. Delicate Pink is a ballerina pink. Iris is an orchidy pink-lavender. Glaze Crimson (which is matte, despite being called a Glaze) is flushed rose. Pebble is pale ice blue. Dove is soft blue-grey. Olive is a soft, dusty, greyed army green. Deep Olive is a deeper olive-brown. Biscotti is peach. Deep Taupe is not taupe at all; it’s a dusty red-purple-brown. Onyx is soft black.

Trish shadows are $16 each, sold as loose Jolly-Rancher-sized pans. You’ll need some kind of magnetic palette for them, and Trish sells a variety of compacts to accommodate them. (If you’re a true addict, you own at least one planner, with magnetic “pages” for all her pan products.)

Swatching all of Trish McEvoy’s eyeshadows will be a larger undertaking, but in the meanwhile, here are her deluxe shadows.

What makes a Trish shadow “deluxe”? It’s just size. Trish’s regular shadows are sold in square pans like Jolly Ranchers (“3/4 of an inch by 3/4 of an inch, square”); the deluxe shadows are in “double” pans; the same size as her blushes.

As a side note, all of Trish’s powder (and some of her creme) products come in a 1x, 2x, or 4x size to be modular within her compacts and planners.

The deluxe shadows are $20 each (regular shadows are $16), and I suspect she made Shell and Soft Peach in this larger size because they’re all-over base shadows, and she expected you to use them every day. Shell and Soft Peach are designated as matte shadows on Trish’s website; Demure is called a sparkle shadow, which is confusing because it doesn’t seem that sparkly.

Demure, Crystal, and Platinum were all released in the All About Eyes Collection; Crystal and Platinum were limited edition, though you can probably still find them for sale at your counter. Â My makeup artist said that Demure and Crystal could potentially be used as a cheek highlight (with a light hand), and that the sparkle shadows should not be used wet because they become crumbly.

Today’s swatches actually showcase two of Trish McEvoy’s best known products: her Eye Definers and Finish Line.

Eye Definers are basically wet/dry eyeliners. They’re $16 each, sold in Jolly-Rancher sized pans that fit into Trish’s empty compacts or planner system.

Since you can use the Eye Definers dry OR wet, I used Trish’s Finish Line ($24) to make the wet swatches. Finish Line is basically a small dropper bottle of magic elixir, which turns powders into waterproof liquid liner. Dr. G first introduced me to this product, turning the pigments and glitters in a MAC holiday set into eyeliner (who’s Dr. G?). If you’re using Finish Line on your potted powders, apply it to your brush, not directly to the powder.

Black is soft black/black. Onyx is charcoal/dark grey. Midnight Diamond is very soft, cool-brown-warm-grey/blue-purple-silver-brown-sparkly when used wet. Lava is the most sparkly: very dark brown with orange-pink sparkles. Â The sparkles are actually less obvious when it’s used wet. Granite is cool brown/sparkly when wet. Blackberry Granite is a little more purple dry/and much more sparkly wet, with pink and gold sparkles. Bronze is quite reddish, and shimmery when wet. Rich Brown is matte.

The second arm I thought generally looked better wet than dry. Deep Aubergine is a purply dark brown. Deep Amethyst and Amethyst look to be almost the same color — I think Amethyst performed better, and made a smoother swatch, though it does have sparkles that Deep Amethyst lacks. Praline is rose-brown and shimmery. Midnight is a somewhat chalky cobalt. Arabian Nights is a sapphire shimmer. Indigo Blue is a blacker shade, but swatches somewhat sheerly. Â It’s also shimmery. Â And Caribbean Blue is a barely shimmery teal (it has more green in it than the other blue shades).

Onyx, Praline, Midnight, Indigo Blue, and Caribbean Blue have been discontinued, but you may still be able to find them at counters.

I figured I’d better show you swatches of the lipgloss in this week’s giveaway prize. Trish McEvoy’s “lipglosses” are the ones in the long tubes with the short brush wands (though Trish goes back and forth between brushes and doe’s foot wands). Â The squeeze tube glosses are the Beauty Booster glosses; they contain SPF 15 and hyaluronic acid (a humectant). Both lipglosses and Beauty Boosters are $25 each.

Trish only lists five shades of lipgloss on her site (Sexy, Simply Glamorous, Irresistible, Gorgeous Pink Shimmer, and Irresistible Pink), but my counter still had the other shades for sale, so I swatched them, too.

Of course I cheated, and the first thing swatched on my arm is not a lipgloss, but a lip- and cheek-stain called Pick-Me-Up ($28). It’s also NOT the same thing as the “Instant Pick-Me-Up Lips” listed on Trish’s website. That’s a color-changing lipstain that adapts to your body (similar idea to Dior’s Lip Glow or Smashbox’s O Gloss). Pick-Me-Up is for lips and cheeks and doesn’t adapt to your body chemistry.

About the glosses: Crystal (discontinued) is clear. Who discontinues a clear gloss? Tropical Nude (also discontinued) is coral-pink; similar to Pick-Me-Up, actually. Sexy is milky, baby pink; Irresistible Petal is a more pink, less white, pale pink with shimmer. Simply Glamorous is a soft peach. Irresistible is orange-golden brown with sparkles. Gorgeous Pink Shimmer is shimmery brown-pink. Irresistible Pink is warm, sheer, sparkly red.

Trish’s Capri Collection is now on counters — though I hesitate to call it “the” summer collection. It’s more like “a” summer collection. While Trish’s limited releases are always appropriate for the season, she doesn’t seem to do big seasonal collections. Just as Trish edits her line to keep it manageable, her collections are never overwhelming.

The collection offers two “Highlights All Over Face Colors” — all over? I’m not so sure. Basically she has a cream bronzer (Capri) and a cream highlighter (London). Both are very sparkly; both are $35. Capri is quite brown (as you can see in the heavier swatch) — I didn’t like it on me. Remember that Trish’s products are sold as pans, for you to place in your own refillable compacts or planners.

24-hour Eyeshadow and Liner is a new product, a long-wear, creaseproof mechanical crayon. As the name suggests, these can be blended out as a shadow or used as a liner (and I swatched them both ways). The names are a bit odd: Aquamarine is a bright, cool silver; Topaz is warm, golden brown; Crystal Gray is charcoal. All three are metallic as liners; sparkly as shadows. They are $32 each.

The two new lipsticks are both “Classic Lip Colors,” which means Trish has sworn never to discontinue the shades. They’re $23 each. Â I think Vibrant looks fun for summer.

The Beauty Booster lipgloss contains SPF 15, comes in a slant-tip squeeze tube, and is a sweet, warm, sparkly pink. It is $25.

Unlike a lot of brands, Trish’s powders (eyeshadow, blush, eye definers) are sold as loose pans. Everything is modular — 1 blush = 2 eyeshadows; 1 foundation/bronzer pan = 2 blush —Â but you have to buy your own compacts (or planner pages for the hardcore). If you travel, or you really like do-it-yourself compacts, it can be a good thing. And Trish sometimes gives away empty compacts or planner pages as gift with purchase (GWP).

Trish’s blushes look very similar in size to Shu Uemura’s, but I haven’t actually measured to be sure. There are currently 6 powder blush shades, and one liquid blush in a click pen with a wide, flat, brush applicator. Yes, there was formerly a Perfect 2, but it was discontinued (and I’ve heard it looked a lot like Perfect 3?). Also: today the lines dividing the blush swatches are Trish’s black pencil eyeliner. It’s not that black (though I suppose I could have layered it).

The blushes are all matte, with the exception of Tangerine Glow, which has a subtle shimmer. It’s very similar in color to Liquid Face Color 1 (the liquid blush in the click pen), but the liquid is sheerer and more dewy — and a little peachier. Tangerine Glow is a bit more pink, but this is also a heavy swatch.

If you weren’t already familiar with the brand, Trish McEvoy is probably best known for her “planners,” her brushes, and her fragrances (#9 Blackberry and Vanilla Musk, anyone?).

Her line covers a lot of ground —Â color, skincare, fragrance —Â but is surprisingly well edited; her full list of products is not overwhelming (and Trish is said to be intimately involved with the creation of all her products. Her grandmother owned a perfumery; her husband is a dermatologist). Everything is also intended to be super travel-friendly (hence the planners).

Anyway, one of her most popular products is her Essential Eye Base, a cream eyeshadow base in a long tube with a doe’s foot applicator. (Similar to Laura Mercier’s Eye Basics.) These have a kind of whipped texture, and my sales associate assures me they will survive a Madonna concert without creasing, flaking, or smudging.

Forgive that the swatches are unblended to best show color, but I think the shades are somewhat misleadingly named. Sand is a light pink (to brighten the lid when blended); Soft Peach is peach-pink. Bare is peachy. Linen is a sandy brown. Sheer Gold is shimmery peach-gold (put an eyeshadow on top of this and it will really pop); Malibu is shimmery, warm, copper-bronze. Demure (aptly named) is a pale beige pink, which reveals subtle sparkle when you blend it out.
