Consensus opinion of Burberry’s eyeshadow singles seemed to be that people liked the shades, liked the formula, but the compacts — while luxurious — were heavy for just one eyeshadow. Well, from your lips to Burberry ears, because in November of last year, the brand released six eyeshadow quads ($59). They call these quads “Complete Eye Palettes,” which seems like a bold statement. What if they want to create a larger palette later?

Smokey Grey contains a softly shimmery grey-silver; a softly shimmery graphite; a warm, industrial, office-appropriate, elephant grey satin; and a satin black.
Mocha includes a matte yellow bisque; a golden tan satin/matte; a warm, almond-skin satin; and a warm chestnut satin.
My sales associate said she felt Pale Nude was best suited to someone very fair, or fairly dark. On anyone in between, she said, the quad would be extremely subtle. The shades are: shimmery-satin white; pale yellow satin/matte; rose bisque satin; and satin camel (this last shade is more golden than the second shade of Mocha, which is more peachy and more matte).
What happened to quad no. 4?
Dark Spice includes a satin/matte goldenrod; a shimmery satin red-brown; a shimmery satin warm wood brown; and a satin black.
Plum Pink contains a satin beige-pink; a satin red-purple mauve; a softly shimmery violet; and a satin cool, mulch brown.
Pink Taupe includes a shimmery beige gold; a softly shimmery, muted moss green; a matte dusty rose; and a matte cool brown.
I’m totally obsessed with Burberry makeup and at Christmas I ended up getting four of the complete eye palettes: Smokey Grey, Mocha, Dark Spice and Plum Pink. I love them so!
