Nail polish is a cruel mistress. With limited edition collections, you really have to stay on the ball (or try not to read about polishes you’ll never be able to find). Don’t let this discourage you, though: the nail polish hunter is frequently rewarded. There are also a ton of great polish blogs out there to help you keep up — and if you check out my link love, I’ve separated the polish blogs from the makeup blogs for your browsing convenience.
It’s only in the past 2 years or so that I discovered there are polish brands other than OPI and woah-nelly, what took me so long?? Nubar is a “three-free” brand (formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP free), best known for their complex, nuanced shades (and plenty of awesome duochromes), as well as glitter topcoats. They also come beloved and recommended by my fellow bloggers Scrangie and Clumps of Mascara.
So this is Nubar’s Royal Gems collection. There are seven jeweltone shades, and all but Tiger’s Eye contain a little shimmer on their own.
And if when I say glitter, you say “yes!” you’ll really like the set’s eighth shade: Tiara, a very blingy glitter topcoat. (As Scrangie demonstrated, it’s so blingy, you can even wear it alone.) I particularly like the topcoat because I’m lazy, and on day three I can slap on a little sparkle and keep my manicure going for longer. Don’t tell anybody I told you that.

>Thank you for taking photos on SKIN! On the Armani Site the colors are so skewed. #400 is the bomb!
