I love watermelon shades for summer, and as soon as I saw Soaper1′s swatch of Mambo Melon, I knew it was just what I’d been craving.
Avon’s been on my mind a lot lately — I was pleasantly surprised by their lipglosses, and I just learned that they have a fabulously vampy nail polish shade called Tweed… I want it.
Anyway, here’s Soaper1′s take on one of the polishes from their Speed Dry+ formula (and I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more of their line soon):
I haven’t used Avon polishes in many years, but I’ve been reading some favorable reviews and thought I should check them out. Avon has certainly broadened their color offering: blues, greens, and purples are now part of the lineup! So I decided to order a few.
Avon offers three formulas of nail polish: Speed Dry+, Nail Wear Pro, and Mirror Shine. Mambo Melon is a Speed Dry+ formula, a shimmery watermelon shade. Like other quick-drying polishes, this one was a little thick, but it still applied very nicely. I used 3 coats over Poshe 4-in-1 basecoat and used 1 coat of Poshe topcoat. You could easily do two coats of this.
I’m not easy on my nails and they take a lot of abuse. This polish has worn amazingly well — no tip wear or chips after three days.

A lot of beauty addicts I know snub Avon because it’s “cheap”. Honestly, I’m a “high end” makeup user and I still find Avon products pretty awesome. Their nail polishes in particular rock my world. Great swatch! And thanks for featuring Avon.
That color looks fantastic, especially for summer! I’ve used two different Avon nail polishes, and they’ve both been decent.
