Clinique Vitamin C Lip Smoothie

Clinique just released a new lipgloss: Vitamin C Lip Smoothies. These contain vitamins C and E and shea butter — and they’re being made permanent to the line. They’re $17.50, which is a little more expensive for Clinique (generally priced like MAC, in the $14 range for lipsticks and glosses).

These look pretty, but (1) I hate click pens, (2) they felt sticky on my arm, and I’m not a sticky-lipgloss kinda girl. If these two conditions don’t apply to you, they’re definitely worth a look.

    >mmm, I love click pen glosses. Do you happen to know what volume is in these glosses? Someone complained that they had already used one up. I know Stila's are 0.08 oz. so I just wanted to compare!

    >I don't know offhand, but I'm looking, and if I find it, I'll post it here.

    >You know, I saw the really pink one on an MA, and it was so Barbie pink with tons of silver, that it looked like baaddddd porn star lip. Definitely a look I will skip. I wasn't impressed by these at all!

    >Hmm I love Clinique glosses but I click-pens are mostly a miss for me. Still I might try them out just to see what they are like.

  • Catherine says:

    >The names are cute… but probably skipping these.

    >Its 0.05 oz. I tried Nude tritious and really liked it. But like Marley says the pink one does look very frosty

    >I have this in Raisin the Bar and it's my new favorite. They are unbelieveably moisturizing, and the color is so pretty. Yes, they are sticky, and the click pen thing is a pain, but I still love it. Your swatches are going to help me decide which one to get next. Thanks!

    >I agree. I couldn't believe how sticky these are.

I have tried these in Good Grapecious and Mangothon. I got GG when they first came out and Mango in a GWP set. I liked GG but after a only using it a few times in a few weeks it developed a nasty smell! Like wet dog! Maybe the brush got contaminated somehow but it was awful. I have had better luck with Mango. No smells after several months (I don’t use it every day so it has lasted).

They are a bit sticky but not less than most lip glosses and I like how it moisturizes. It wears a little thicker than a gloss with more color payoff but still a little sheer. I put some on one day after getting sun and wind burned and it was very soothing. I like the colors I have tried–the mango is more of a neutral pink brown than the name implies. I am thinking of picking up another color, maybe Rhubarb or Fig.
