Tremendous thanks to chixyb, who made today’s swatches possible by lending me her NYX rep palettes for swatching.
As far as drugstore makeup goes, NYX is a pretty well loved. They have a large, diverse product line with kind of an “underground” reputation (the MAC of drugstore makeup, perhaps?). The only catch is that they’re difficult to find in-store. You might find part of their collection at Ulta or a grocery store, but you might also find a large cache of their products in a random clothing store. Most folks buy online, from NYX’s website, CherryCulture.com, or NonpareilBoutique.com
NYX’s most famous eyeshadows are their singles, 160 colors in $5 squarish pots. There are only 18 shades of the Ultimate Pearl Shadows, which might be considered NYX’s premium shadows. They come in larger, round pots. They’re $6.50 each and have a satin/pearl/generally low shimmer finish. They’re all very soft; not chalky at all.
NYX Ultimate Pearl Eyeshadow: Black Pearl, White Pearl, Silver Pearl, Charcoal Pearl, Copper Pearl, Bronze Pearl, Blonde Pearl, Gold Pearl, Lime Pearl, Baby Pink Pearl, Baby Blue Pearl, Green Eyes Pearl, Purple Pearl, Salmon Pearl, Blue Pearl, Golden Pink Pearl, Ocean Pearl, Sahara Pearl

>I think I need all of them!
>I need them all too! How do these compare in quality to the NYX regualar single e/s?
>i own white pearl and i just love it! i have to get me some more of these
>Thanks so much for these!
>your swatches always helps me so much!
>Ah, I love NYX.
I don't have any of these yet, but going by the swatches I'll be looking to pick up at least a couple. Thanks!
>wow that is so crazy i can't believe the changes! so after 5 minutes does it stay the same color? do you think the color would change depending on your body temp (ex: skiing vs clubbing)?
I have about 15 of these. I got them right before Longs became CVS and they were only about $1 each!! Since then I haven’t used them but today I swatched them all again and they’re so pretty! I really need to start using them.
