Many thanks to Soaper1 for these beautiful nail swatches:
Essie Lapis of Luxury is part of Essie’s summer 2010 Resort Collection. The other polishes in the collection are Splash of Grenadine, Turquoise & Caicos, and Playa del Platinum. They retail for $8 each, but Essie nail polish is currently buy 2 get 1 free at Ulta, and they have a $3.50-off-$10 coupon.
This color is not what I think of when I think of Lapis, but it’s a beautiful color. Essie’s website describes it as a “dreamy ocean blue.” (Agree? Disagree?) I really like Essie’s formula and this one is no exception. It was a little streaky on the first two coats with some minor cuticle drag, but the third coat evened everything out very nicely. I apply three thin coats, but I think you could get away with two thicker coats. The formula is so easy to work with and applies so well that I barely had any cleanup on this manicure. And it worked well with Seche Vite, so there’s no shrinkage.

I just ordered Turquoise & Caicos and Splash of Grenadine last night. They look so yummy!
Oh that is SO gorgeous!
I love this color! I actually bought this and while I was using it for the first time, I dropped the open bottle on the carpet. Polish went eeeverywhere.
On the plus side, I learned how to get nail polish out of carpet!
