A few weeks ago I mentioned a book-and-lipgloss deal involving Three Custom Color. Buy Brenda Novak’s new book, Killer Heat, in the first week it comes out (September 28 – October 5), mail your receipt to
Brenda Novak – Lip Gloss
PO Box 3781
Citrus Heights, CA 95611
And you’ll receive Three Custom Color’s Killer Heat lipgloss (normally $21.95) FREE. Pretty much the best deal ever, given that the book is $7.99, paperback, and even the digital version counts for the promotion.
So they asked me if I’d like to review the book and lipgloss. Of course I would!
Killer Heat is your light, frothy summer thriller. There’s a serial killer on the loose, a love triangle, some light bodice ripping. Take it to the beach, you’ll have a good time.
The “lipgloss” is actually a fantastic tinted balm. (And I filed this post under “Lips (Other)” instead of “Lipgloss” for just that reason.) It’s totally sheer, and the formula is moisturizing with a lot of slip to it. I like it better than Vaseline’s Rosy Lips — it’s longer-lasting and has no scent. When you wake up early and your lips have NO color, but you have to be somewhere and you want to look alive, this is the perfect thing.
The case is a self-contained, rotate-to-open affair, and it’s pretty big. You can see sparkles in my up-close photo of the pot, but they don’t show in an arm- or lip-swatch.
For reference, here are my naked lips, then with Killer Heat on them.
Nice, right? But as LeVar Burton used to say, you don’t have to take my word for it.
