I may have to stop calling myself a “lipstick girl” if I keep finding such excellent glosses. Bare Escentuals has added a new formula to their Buxom line: Big and Healthy Lip Cream. And in an unprecedented rate of success, I think I like four of the seven shades.
Many of Buxom’s regular “Lip Polish” lipglosses are shimmery, frosty, or sparkly, but the Lip Creams are all sheer cream finish. They’re still glossy — not what I would call liquid lipsticks.
Like all the other Buxom lip products I’ve tried, Lip Creams smell like vanilla if you hold the applicator to your nose — but as soon as you apply them to your lips they feel/smell tingly and minty. This is pleasant, refreshing, and slightly dangerous, because it makes me believe my breath is fresher than it may actually be (and no one can smell/feel the mint but me).

Pink Lady is a cool, candy pink. Creamsicle is a “soft neon” coral pink. Berry Blast seemed to be the most pigmented of the group, a cool electric-berry fuchsia. Mudslide is a warm terracotta rose. Purple Haze is sheer orchid pink-purple. White Russian is a pale, warm pink. And Cherry Flip is sheer maraschino-cherry juice.
The colors apply more softly than this photo may lead you to believe; I tried on Cherry Flip and found it to be a sheer gloss (a lovely color, but nothing like the coverage of NARS’ Larger Than Life Norma). And if I may make one small criticism of the packaging: the inner ring (through which the wand slides) fits the applicator so precisely that there’s no room for air to escape. Not a dealbreaker, but I thought I would mention it.
Lip Creams are $18 each, available at Sephora. They’re also preservative- and paraben-free, if you worry about that kind of thing.

Creamsicle is SO pretty! Thanks so much for posting this!
Pretty shades… but I have never liked minty glosses… what’s your favorite opaque gloss that’s not sticky and doesn’t have any mint (or other overpowering odors?)
Thanks!
Donna, when you say opaque gloss, do you mean a full coverage lipgloss (that’s still shiny) or a liquid lipstick (full coverage cream lipstick with a mousse-like texture)?
I’m happy you swatched these since I was super interested in seeing Mudslide and White Russian.
Do you have future plans to swatch Lancome Rouge In Love? There are a lot of swatches out right now, but I’ve noticed that the shades vary by country. I’m super curious to see the US shade line up.
I love allof them - especially Mudslide! Thanks for the swatches!
